The Top Ten Cards in Yugi’s Deck

Yugi Muto and Atem share the title of the king of games. Yugi is considered to be the greatest duelist in the world. He plays many of the game’s most iconic monsters. Dark Magician, Black Luster Soldier, and Slifer The Sky Dragon are just a few of Yugi’s signature cards. He plays his monsters to their fullest potential.

My list of the ten best cards in Yugi’s decks only include cards in the OCG and TCG. A few cards in my list were on the ban list for many years. Yugi is the king of games for a reason. He plays some of the most broken cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!’s history.

1. Dark Paladin

Dark Paladin

The best card in Yugi’s deck is Dark Paladin, and he only plays this card twice in the series. Dark Paladin has one of the most epic debuts in the anime. He dominates Kaiba and all three of Kaiba’s Blue-Eyes White Dragons in single attack! Dark Paladin is the key card that helps Yugi defeats Kaiba in the semifinals for the Battle City Tournament! This is a monster that Kaiba does not have an answer for.

2. Black Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning

Black Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning is the only card on this list that we never see Yugi play, but the card is in his deck. Dimitri from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX steals Yugi’s deck from an exhibition at Duel Academy. He surprises Jaden when he summons Black Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning. This means Yugi added this legendary warrior to his deck after the original series. It is a very powerful card with the ability to dominate opponents.

Black Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning is one of the strongest cards in the game’s history. This legendary warrior is very easy to summon, and he has two powerful effects. Thus, he was banned by Konami for many years. Black Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning is now legal in the game. I play the powerful warrior in my favorite deck.

3. Slifer The Sky Dragon

Slifer The Sky Dragon

Slifer The Sky Dragon is one of the most powerful cards in the anime. It is the second Egyptian God to appear in the anime. Yugi obtains the legendary Egyptian God after defeating Strings in an intense duel! Slifer The Sky Dragon becomes one of Yugi’s most reliable cards. He summons the Egyptian God in his duels against Kaiba and Marik.

4. Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight

Yugi shocked the world when he summoned Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight for the first time on television. It is one of the series’s best introductions to a new monster. I was blown out of my mind when Yugi fused Timaeus with Dark Magician Girl to summon Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight! This card’s effect discards one card from your hand and destroys one of your opponent’s monster. It is a even trade to easily destroy one of your opponent’s best monsters.

5.The Eye of Timaeus

The Eye of Timaeus is one of the best cards to play with the Dark Magician. The card makes it easier to summon powerful fusion monsters for Dark Magician. It fusion summons any monster with Dark Magician listed as Fusion Material. You only need Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl on the field to play The Eye of Timaeus. This card can summon Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight and Dark Paladin.

Yugi receives the The Eye of Timaeus in episode 147. He often draws the card when he is on the edge of defeat. The Eye of Timaeus is one of Yugi’s most reliable Spell Cards. The Eye of Timaeus responds to Yugi’s need for help. Then, Yugi fusion summons a powerful monster to swing the duel in his favor.

6. Mirror Force

Yugi’s best Trap Card is Mirror Force. It is one of his most consistent cards in his deck. It is the perfect card to counter an opponent’s offense. Mirror Force destroys all of your opponent’s monsters in Attack Position. Yugi first plays this Mirror Force in episode 4 during his duel against Weevil Underwood.

Furthermore, Mirror Force was once considered to be one of the strongest cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Players feared this card for many years. The card is not as strong as it once was in the early days. Konami continues to create new versions of Mirror Force. Players can create unique decks for the legendary Trap Card.

7. Buster Blader

Yugi plays Buster Blader for the first time in the Battle City Tournament. It is a great addition to his deck. Buster Blader gains 500 ATK for each of your opponent’s dragons on the field and graveyard. Yugi adds Buster Blader to his deck to counter Kaiba’s Blue-Eyes White Dragon. He now has a card that outclasses Blue-Eyes White Dragon in battle.

Furthermore, Buster Blader is a key card to play Dark Paladin. Yugi fuses Buster Blader and Dark Magician to form the ultimate magical swordsman Dark Paladin! It is Yugi’s best Fusion Monster in the series. Buster Blader and Dark Magician have very similar armor, and this may be a sign of their friendship. They join forces to defeat the greatest dragons at the time.

8. Monster Reborn

Furthermore, Yugi plays a lot of cards that support the Dark Magician. Buster Blader, Dark Magician Girl, and The Eyes of Timaeus are just three of many supportive cards in Yugi’s deck. Their synergy with the ultimate wizard creates powerful combos! Yugi wins many duels with the Dark Magician and his supportive cast.
