Unit of The Week: Blaster Javelin (V Series Royal Paladin)

This single strike is the righteous anger of the knights.

[CONT](RC):During the battle that it boosted, if you have a vanguard with “Blaster” or “Arc Saver” in it’s card name, this unit gets [Power]+2000.
[AUTO](RC):When it boosts, if you have six units with “Blaster” in their different card names, choose a rear-guard in your opponent’s front row, and bind it.

Blaster Javelin has a history with Shadow Paladin and Royal Paladin. This version of the unit is a member of the Royal Paladins. Blaster Javelin is strictly a card for support of Blasters. He has two good abilities for Royal Paladin’s favorite archetype.

First Effect:

Blaster Javelin is a good booster for Blasters. Blaster Javelin gains 2,000 power when it boosts a unit if your vanguard has Blaster or Arch Saver in its name. The additional power strengthens the boost. Your rear-guard in the front row will have respectable power, and you can pressure the opponent.

Blaster Javelin is the perfect rear-guard in back row for Blaster Rapier (V Series Royal Paladin). This stellar duo of Blasters create a powerful column. Blaster Rapier gains 15,000 power from her ability and a boost from Blaster Javelin increases her power to a total of 35,000.

Second Effect:

Blaster Javelin is a valuable rear-guard due to his second ability. Blaster Javelin binds one of the opponent’s rear-guards in the front row. The opponent loses access to his or her rear-guard. You have control of the field with units like Blaster Javelin and Blaster Blade (V Series).

This ability is a huge advantage against many decks. Blaster Javelin binds the opponent’s best rear-guard in the front row. The opponent has one less card for defense if you bind a grade 2 rear-guard with intercept. You remove an offense and defense card from the field.

However, Blaster Javelin requires your field to have six Blasters with different names for the activation of this ability. You will most likely activate this ability in the mid to late game, and you must protect your Blasters. Blaster Arrow provides protection and the opponent cannot target Blasters with effects due to Blaster Arrow’s ability.

Premium Format:

Blaster Javelin is a decent card in the Premium Format with his ability of removal and strong boost. He is one of the best grade 1 blasters. You can create strong columns with a combination of abilities from G-Units and rear-guards.

The second ability of Blaster Javelin is an easier ability in the Premium format than the V-Premium Format. The Premium Format currently has more Blasters than the V-Premium Format. You can create an entire field with six Blasters with different names.

Card Rating:

Overall, Blaster Javelin is staple in a pure deck for Blaster. The ability to bind an opponent’s rear-guard is too good to pass. Blaster Javelin is a nice unit in the Premium and V-Premium formats. I recommend playing two to four copies of Blaster Javelin in your deck.
