Tier Square Sorceress is a grade one unit from the Keter Sanctuary. This card has the style of Oracle Think Tank in the D-Standard Format. You gain benefits for manipulating your deck when you play  Tier Square Sorceress. This unit complements the style of Sorceress and fits in some archetypes for Oracle Think Tank in the Premium Format

D-Standard Format:

Tier Square Sorceress is part of the ride deck for Hexaorb Sorceress. This grade 1 unit is an essential card for the ride deck due to her first ability. This card provides consistency to the archetype.

First Ability:

Tier Square Sorceress allows you to draw a card when you ride Pentagleam Sorceress on top of her. You get an additional card for the turn. It allows you to quickly gain access to your deck’s resources. The additional draw has the potential to be a useful card for your strategy.

The upside of this ability is recovering the size of your hand. A ride from the ride deck requires you to discard a card. This ability ensures you to maintain the same number of resources. The additional draw strengthens your hand.

Furthermore, this ability requires Tier Square Sorceress to be in your ride deck. It is the consistent method to activate the first ability. You may ride Tier Square Sorceress during your first turn.

Second Ability:

Tier Square Sorceress returns an opponent’s unit in the front row to the bottom of his or her deck when your drive check reveals a trigger. The opponent loses a card and an interceptor. You remove offense and defense from the opposing the field.

Furthermore, this ability provides a huge advantage against many decks. Tier Square Sorceress disrupts the opponent’s strategy. Some decks heavily relay on their rear-guards in the front row such as  For One’s Precious Thing, Rorowa depends on the offense from Dragritter Girl of Flame Blossoms, Radylina.

However, this ability may not be an advantage against certain decks. Some deck have the ability to superior call units and Tier Square Sorceress is not making an impact. For example, you may return Great Sword of Fierce Black Flame, Obscudeid to the bottom of the opponent’s deck. However, Fountain of Knowledge, Eva may superior call Great Sword of Fierce Black Flame, Obscudeid to the field, and this combo activates his effect.

Support:

Tier Square Sorceress is part of the archetype of Sorceress. The abilities of the units from this archetype provide consistency for this unit. You can create effective combos against opponents.

For instance, Hexaorb Sorceress sets up Tier Square Sorceress with a good play. Hexaorb Sorceress places a critical trigger from your hand to the top of your deck. It sets the stage for this play. The drive check provides the effects of the critical trigger and activates Tier Square Sorceress’s second ability to return an opponent’s rear-guard in the front row to the bottom of his or her deck.

Premium Format:

Tier Square Sorceress is not a great fit in the Premium Format. Her first ability is for the ride deck, and the ride deck is currently only in the D-Standard Format. Her second ability is her only usable ability in the Premium Format.

Furthermore, the second ability of Tier Square Sorceress has synergy with multiple archetypes from the United Sanctuary. She is a natural fit with Amaterasu and Magus. These archetypes complement her ability to return units to the bottom of the opponent’s decks.

In addition, Tier Square Sorceress counters clans such as Nova Grappler and Aqua Force. These clans do not have effective means to regain their units from the deck. They normally cannot superior call particular units from the deck.

Amaterasu

Amaterasu is one of the most obvious archetypes for Tier Square Sorceress in the Premium Format. This archetype is known for its ability to manipulate the top cards of the deck. Their abilities allow you to place triggers on top of the deck.

For instance, CEO Amaterasu (V Series) allows you to draw a card and look at the top card of the deck. You may keep it on top or send it to the bottom of the deck. If a trigger is on top of the deck, then the drive check will reveal it. Then, Tier Square Sorceress will send an opponent’s rear-guard in the front row to the bottom of his or her deck.

Magus:

Tier Square Sorceress is also a natural fit with Magus in the premium format. This archetype of Oracle Think Tank has many units with the ability to manipulate the top cards of the deck and place triggers on top of the deck. For instance, Rectangle Magus (V Series) may rearrange the top two cards of the deck and ensure a trigger will be on top after you draw a card. Your vanguard will reveal this trigger during the drive check and activate the second ability of Tier Square Sorceress.

Card Rating:

Overall, Tier Square Sorceress is a decent card for Sorceress. Her best benefit is drawing a card when you ride Pentagleam Sorceress. You are gaining resources with this grade 1 unit. Her second ability has its upside against certain opponents. I recommend playing Tier Square Sorceress in your deck with Sorceress.
