Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit is the new leading vanguard for Gold Paladins. He wears shiny gold armor and wields a large sword. It is the main Gold Paladin vanguard in Cardfight!! Vanguard G. Taiyou plays Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit in his Gold Paladin deck in the anime. His power is one of the top five in the Gold Paladins. He is leading the Gold Paladins’ charge against Shadow Paladins’ rebel leader Claret Sword Dragon.
Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit’s Generation Break is a rare defensive skill for a vanguard, and it is one of my favorite skills in the game. His skill superior calls one of the top four cards from your deck to the guardian circle. This skill is fantastic against cards that prevent you from calling perfect guards from your hand to the field, and it is useful when you do not have a perfect guard in your hand. Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit bypasses skills from cards such as Dragonic Waterfall because he superior calls perfect guards from the deck instead of your hand.
However, only certain perfect guards can activate their skills from the deck. These perfect guards do not have restrictions on how you can play them. These perfect guards’ text says, “When placed” or “When this unit is placed on (GC), you may pay the cost.”. Unfortunately, any perfect guard with text that says, “When placed from hand” are not capable with the skill. Always read a card’s text to fully comprehend its ability.

Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit’s second skill superior calls one of the top four cards from your deck when you stride a G-unit, and your rear-guard gains 2,000 power. This skill is great for building your formation and saving cards in your hand. You will always have a good offense with Gurguit. In addition to calling a rear-guard, this skill helps set up unite, and you only need to call one more unit to activate unite. You unlock more skills when unite is activate.
Finally, Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit has many great options for G-units. I recommend striding G-units with Gurguit in their names. Gurguit G-units are some of the strongest G-units in Gold Paladins. They have great offensive skills to complement Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit’s second skill. My favorite G-unit for Gurguit is Master Swordsman of First Light, Gurguit Helios.

Overall, Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit is a unique unit with one of the best defensive skills in the game. Gold Paladins have an effective answer against cards that prevent players from playing perfect guards. I would like to see Bushiroad develop more vanguards with defensive skills. Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit’s second skill is also very good, and gives you a new rear-guard on the field. Offense sells tickets, and defense wins championships!
