D-Standard Format:
Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) has the Aichi Icon. It supports this group of Royal Paladins in the D-Standard Format. Two of its three abilities are skills when it is the vanguard, and its third ability provides defense. You may either place this card in the ride deck or only add it to the main deck.
Furthermore, the deck for the Aichi Icon has two options for the grade three unit in the ride deck. This flexibility allows for a variety of strategies. You may either place King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon) or Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) in the ride deck. Both cards share the same ability to activate persona ride when you place them on a grade three vanguard with the Aichi Icon.
First Ability:
Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) activates persona ride when you ride this unit on a grade three vanguard with the Aichi Icon. This ability allows an alternative condition for the persona ride. You are not required to ride Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) on a copy of itself. You have the freedom to change the vanguard for your strategy.
For example, your first grade three vanguard can be King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon) will superior call two rear-guards from the deck, and your field has rear-guards in place for Soul Saver Dragon (D Series). Then, you may ride Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) during your next turn, and persona ride activates its effects with a different grade three as the vanguard.
Therefore, Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) has more consistent persona rides than most units in the D-Standard Format. This ability adds consistency to a persona ride in a pure deck of units with the Aichi Icon. You can ride Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) on cards like King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). Then, the persona ride adds 10,000 power to all units in the front row and you draw a card.
Second Ability:
Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) enables multiple battles for a single turn. This vanguard stands all rear-guards in one column and both rear-guards gain 5,000 power. In addition, you can stand both columns if you persona ride during this turn. This ability provides a lot of offense, and strengthens your rear-guards for their next battles.
Furthermore, the full potential of Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) with the persona ride pressures the opponent. Two units in the front row ensure five battles for the turn. This vanguard stands these rear-guards during the battle phase. Both rear-guards in the front row gain a total of 15,000 power from the persona ride and this ability. Multiple battles from these units can overwhelm an opponent and force him or her to use many cards for defense.
Therefore, Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) is a strong finisher for Royal Paladins with the Aichi Icon. A strong strategy is playing this card in the main deck. You may persona ride this unit on your fourth turn and unleash this amazing offense from this ability.
Third Ability:
Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) gains 10,000 shield on the guardian circle. This ability requires your vanguard to have the Aichi Icon. It is a unique ability for a grade three unit. This defensive skill can be beneficial during a critical moment of a game when an opponent’s unit with a large amount of power attacks your vanguard.
Furthermore, Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) adds a defensive ability to the deck. You should only consider this card for defense in critical moments. It should mainly be considered to avoid taking six damage and losing the game. You may call this unit to the guardian circle when it is one of the few options to block an attack.
Support:
Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) has strong support from the Royal Paladins with the Aichi Icon. This vanguard creates powerful columns with the deck’s grade two units. You can search the deck for this vanguard.
Knight of Silence, Gallatin (D Series) and Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) are a dynamic and strong pair of units. They have offensive synergy. Knight of Silence, Gallatin (D Series) gains 5,000 power when you have a vanguard with the Aichi Icon. Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) adds 5,000 power to this unit and a persona ride adds an additional 10,000 power. Therefore, Knight of Silence, Gallatin (D Series) has a total of 30,000 power before a boost, and he can attack twice during this turn because Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) stands him.
Pongal (D Series) is a searcher for Royal Paladin. Pongal (D Series) is a great card for Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) in decks with all copies of this grade three unit in the main deck. This grade one unit can search the top five cards of the deck for a grade three card. Pongal (D Series) also goes into soul for the cost of this ability. Pongal (D Series) can add Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) and builds the soul for the cost of Soul Saver Dragon’s second ability.

Furthermore, Royal Paladin has many generic G-Units for Soul Saver Dragon (D Series). The clan has powerful and generic G-Units such as Divine Knight of Triumph, Eulogias, Divine Knight of Twin Absolutes, Saint of Twin Sword and Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon. Their abilities enhance this card in the Premium Format.
For example, Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon gains all of the abilities of Soul Saver Dragon (D Series). It will pressure the opponent with multiple battles from your rear-guards. This G-Unit will mainly use the first and second abilities. You must persona ride Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) in the same turn when you stride Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon for the full effects. Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon enables at least five battles for the turn and strengthens your rear-guards.
Divine Knight of Triumph, Eulogias generates offense for Soul Saver Dragon (D Series). This G-Unit’s ability creates the Imaginary Gift: Force, and you can select Imaginary Gift: Force I. You can place the marker for Force I on the vanguard’s circle. You can perform a persona ride with Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) during your next turn. This strategy creates a unique combo with the Imaginary Gift: Force and persona ride. Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) gains 10,000 power from the persona ride and an additional 10,000 power from the Imaginary Gift: Force I. Therefore, Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) has a total of 33,000 power before a boost.

Premium Matchups: Weaknesses
Clans with abilities to control the field counter Soul Saver Dragon (D Series). Royal Paladins rely on each other for power in numbers or from abilities. Clans such as Kagero and Link Joker counter this strategy.
Kagero can retire the rear-guards alongside Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) during your battle phase. The clan’s G-Guardians can prevent you from having more than three battles in a turn. Flame Wing Steel Beast, Denial Griffin retires a rear-guard when it attacks any unit. Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Defeat Flare Dragon retires all rear-guards in a player’s back row.
Link Joker locks units and you lose access to those cards until the end of your turn. Link Joker has G-Guardians with this ability. For instance, Darkness that Lights Up Demise, Lacus Carina can lock up to three of a player’s rear-guards in the back row. Large Wheel of the Cosmos, Cosmo Wreath may lock one rear-guard in the back row.
Card Rating:
Overall, Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) is a stellar card for Royal Paladin. This card is a strong finisher. Its second ability can dominate the competition in the late game. It complements the grade two units in the deck. Therefore, I recommend playing Soul Saver Dragon (D Series) in your deck.
