Unit of The Week: Octaray Sorceress

The light gathers, as the future rest upon these hands.

[AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (RC), if you have a grade 3 or greater vanguard with “Sorceress” in its card name, COST [Counter Blast (1)], look at two cards from the top of your deck, choose up to two from among them, put them into your hand, and put the rest on the top of your deck in any order. If you put two cards into your hand, choose a card from your hand, and put it on the bottom of your deck.
[AUTO](RC):When this unit attacks, if you persona rode this turn, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.

Octaray Sorceress is a grade 2 unit from the Keter Sanctuary. She is a good card for her archetype. This elf has two abilities, and she supports the archetype of Sorceress. This grade unit provides the combination of offense and resources in a single card. She can pressure the opponent in battle. She also helps the player to draw cards and manipulate the deck.

D-Standard Format:

Octaray Sorceress is a member of Sorceress from the Keter Sanctuary. She provides support for Hexaorb Sorceress. Her abilities complements the deck’s strategy. She can arrange the top two cards of the deck with the potential to place a trigger on top of the deck.

First Ability:

Octaray Sorceress looks at the top two cards of the deck and provides many options to you. Octaray Sorceress manipulates the deck to place a trigger on the top of the deck and allows you to draw a card. There is the option of the ability adding both cards to your hand. There is the option of the ability adding one card to the hand and placing one card on top of the deck. The final choice is placing both cards on top of the deck.

Furthermore, you have the option to add up to two cards to your hand. This option allows you to place any triggers from the two cards on top of the deck and you may keep one of the cards in your hand. This scenario guarantees at least one trigger for a drive check.

In addition, Octaray Sorceress sets up Hexaorb Sorceress for success. Hexaorb Sorceress wants triggers on the top of the deck because she adds 10,000 power to a rear-guard when a your drive check reveals a trigger. You have the potential to place a trigger on top of the deck and add a card to your hand.  You also have the potential to strengthen your offense with 10,000 power to a rear-guard from the ability of Hexaorb Sorceress

Second Ability:

Octaray Sorceress gains 5,000 power in battle if you persona rode a vanguard during this turn. This ability complements the archetype’s strategy. She provides a strong offense in battle. She has the potential to reach a high level of power with the effects of triggers on top of the deck with her first ability.

Therefore, Octaray Sorceress has a total of 25,000 power with 5,000 power from her second ability and 10,000 power from your persona ride. She is a stellar rear-guard in the front row due to her offense. She can hit the opposing vanguard without a boost.

Furthermore, you can create a strong column with this rear-guard. I recommend placing a rear-guard with at least 8,000 power in the back row. You may place Tier Square Sorceress in the back row. A boost from Tier Square Sorceress increases the total power of Octaray Sorceress to 33,000 during the turn when you persona ride a vanguard.

Support:

Octaray Sorceress has excellent support from Sorceress and generic cards from the Keter Sanctuary. Many cards in her archetype have synergy with her. Hexaorb Sorceress has the potential to increase the power of this grade two unit. Cards in the archetype have the ability to superior call this card to the field.

Diaglass Sorceress is an effective grade one unit to play alongside Octaray Sorceress. This grade one unit adds consistency to this grade two unit. Diaglass Sorceress may potentially superior call Octaray Sorceress from the top two cards of your deck, and you may activate Octaray Sorceress when you place her on the field. It is an effective combo for both of these cards because they complement each other.

Premium Format:

Octaray Sorceress is a legal card for the Keter Sanctuary and all clans from the United Sanctuary in the Premium Format. Due to her abilities, she only fits in a deck with Sorceress. She requires a vanguard with Sorceress in its name for her first ability and she requires a persona ride for her second ability.

Therefore, Octaray Sorceress requires support from generic G-Units from the United Sanctuary. Many of these G-Units have the ability to superior call her and increase her power. She has synergy with many cards from Oracle Think Tank.

Happiness Gathering Dragon King is a G-Unit from Oracle Think Tank, and this G-Unit works well with Octaray Sorceress. Happiness Gathering Dragon King may superior call this grade 2 unit from the top cards of the deck, and activate the effects of triggers. This G-Unit has the potential to add a lot of power to the field. In addition,  Octaray Sorceress may stack the deck with a trigger and allow you to draw a card.
