Unit of The Week: Dragonic Vanquisher

Fall back! Those who would stand in my way!

[AUTO](VC) Generation Break 2 (This ability is active if you have two or more face up G units in total on your (VC) or G zone):When your opponent’s rear-guard is put into the drop zone due to an effect from one of your cards, this unit gets [Power]+3000/[Critical]+1 until end of turn.
[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] During your turn, when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one rear-guard in your opponent’s front row, retire it, and bind that card face up.

It is time for me to take a look at Narukami in Cardfight!! Vanguard G. Narukami is known for destroying rear-guards in the front row. Dragonic Vanquisher stays true to Narukami’s disruptive nature. He is one of Narukami’s commanders. He most likely earned his ranked after so many lives were lost in the great war against Link Joker. Dragonic Vanquisher is worthy of his position after proving himself by single-handedly vanquishing thousands of foes!

Dragonic Vanquisher’s Generation Break turns up the pressure in the late game. He games 3K power and a critical every time an opponent’s rear-guard is sent to the drop zone due to an effect from one of your cards. Play cards that can retire your opponent’s rear-guards such as Dragonic Deathscythe. Break ride Dragonic Vanquisher on top of Eradicator, Ignition Dragon to stack a lot of criticals. Dragonic Vanquisher’s power will be 27K before a boost from your grad 1 unit and he will gain two criticals.

However, Dragonic Vanquisher’s Generation Break is not unstoppable. The skill only builds up power for the vanguard column. Opponents can use a perfect guard to negate the attack and avoid major damage. Using Stride can be a better option to use if you know your opponent can block your attack. The triple drive will provide more advantage to you than wasting your time with an attack that will fail.

His second skill actives when your G unit Stride on top of him. You retire one rear-guard in your opponent’s front row and bind it face up. The bind is very nice as your opponent cannot use the card to activate Legion. Stride Conquering Supreme Dragon, Conquest Dragon to combine both cards’ skills into a fantastic play. Your opponent’s front row rear-guards will be destroyed and all of your front row units will gain 5K for each open rear-guard circle. That is a huge 10K power boost for your two front row rear-guards and Conquering Supreme Dragon, Conquest Dragon!

Overall, Dragonic Vanquisher is a nice combo oriented card. He needs a lot of help to put his strategy in motion. He requires a deck built to constantly retire your opponent’s rear-guards. His Generation Break drives up the pressure in the late game. His stride makes Conquering Supreme Dragon, Conquest Dragon a force to be wrecking with! Dragonic Vanquisher vanquishes his foes with thunderous lighting!
