During the End Phase, if this face-up card you controlled was destroyed by your opponent’s card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard this turn: You can banish 1 “Nordic Ascendant” Tuner monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card. When Summoned this way: You can draw 1 card.

Team Ragnarok is the team to beat. They hold the legendary Synchro God monsters. Halldor of Team Ragnarok is the owner of Odin, Father of the Aesir. Odin, Father of the Aesir is the strongest of the three Nordic Gods. He has 4,000 attack points and 3,500 defense points. Odin is also my first and only Ghost Rare card. I pulled him from a booster pack in  Number 10 Illumiknight Collectible Tin. He is in a safe place in my collection binder.

I must first special summon Odin, Father of the Aesir. There are a couple of easy options. The first option is Vanadis of the Nordic Ascendant. Vanadis is one of the best Tuners to Synchro summon Odin. She can be used to Synchro summon any Aesir God card. My second option is Valkyrie of the Nordic Ascendant. Valkyrie is also a fine choice to play with Odin. Her skills can instantly summon Odin from your extra deck. If your opponent control a monster and you normal summon her without any other cards on the field, then you may special summon two level four tokens. The tokens and Valkyrie can Synchro summon Odin!

Odin, Father of the Aesir is a difficult card to overcome. Odin, Father of the Aesir’s first skill makes him unaffected by Spell and Trap cards until the end of the turn. You may use this skill once per turn. Cards such as Spellbook of Fate, Dark Hole, and Dimensional Prison are ineffective against Odin. Opponents must find another method to defeat a God card. You may attack your opponent without any worries of traps.

Furthermore, Odin, Father of the Aesir can special summon himself from the graveyard.. He can be special summon during the End Phase if he was destroyed, and he requires you to banish 1 Nordic Ascendant Tuner monster from your Graveyard. You may draw a card if he is special summoned by this method. This will give you an advantage to draw more cards with each summon. There will be at least one Nordic Ascendant Turner in your Graveyard because it was used to Synchro summon Odin.

However, Odin, Father of the Aesir is not unstoppable. An opponent may banish him to prevent him from returning to the field. Blaster Luster Soldier Envoy of The Beginning can easily defeat Odin. His skill will banish Odin from the game. Dark Magician of Chaos can banish Odin from the game. Dark Magician of Chaos will need assistance to win the battle. The Spellbook of Power can increase his attack points by 1,000 and you can copy this effect with Spellbook of The Master.

Overall, Odin, Father of the Aesir is an extremely powerful card on its own. His high attack points and effects make him nearly unbeatable. He is difficult to remove because he is unaffected by Spell and Trap cards until the end of your turn. Most monsters cannot destroy him in battle. His attack points are too great for many monsters to overcome. He can special summon himself to the field if your opponent finds a miracle to defeat him. No one can defeat the almighty Odin, Father of the Aesir!
