You can only control 1 “Grandmaster of the Six Samurai”. If you control a “Six Samurai” monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent’s card effect: Target 1 “Six Samurai” monster in your GY; add that target to your hand.

Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is a veteran in his archetype. He uses his experience and ancient techniques to assist the young samurais in battle. Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is one of the original Six Samurais. His effects help his player to special summon him and regain a card. I play one copy of Grandmaster of the Six Samurai in my deck.

First Effect

Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is an easy card to summon. You may special summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai from your hand if you control a Six Samurai on the field. The effect’s conditions are very easy to Fulfill. You only need to summon a single Six Samurai to the field. Then, special summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai. This effect is an efficient method to special summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai.

This effect fits in Six Samurai’s style. They want want to swarm the field to overwhelm the competition. Grandmaster of the Six Samurai gives you a strong monster the field. He crushes many low level monsters in battle.

Second Effect

Grandmaster of the Six Samurai will not allow his defeat by an opponent’s effect be in vain! His effect allows you to add a Six Samurai monster from your graveyard to your hand! This is a great ability for regaining a monster. You are able to summon a new monster during your next turn. Also, you could add a copy of Grandmaster of the Six Samurai from your graveyard if one is there.

However, your opponent can easily avoid this effect. The effect only activates if a card’s effect destroys Grandmaster of the Six Samurai. He or she may destroy Grandmaster of the Six Samurai by battle. You would not gain the ability to returning a fallen ally from the graveyard to your hand.

Finally, you may only have one Grandmaster of the Six Samurai on your field. A deck only needs one or two copies in a deck. Three copies could clog your hand. A deck’s strategy remains consistent with only one or two copies of Grandmaster of the Six Samurai.

Overall, Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is a complementary piece for Six Samurai. His skills enhance the archetype’s strategy to spam the field. You want to summon monsters as much as possible. Grandmaster of the Six Samurai joins the duel by special summoning himself to the field. You can create many combinations with Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
