Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus is a powerful vanguard from Magallanica! He has the ability to raise your units from the dead and superior call them to the field! The pirates from Granblue never die! They continue to fight until they defeat their foes! Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus also has the Imaginary Gift: Protect

First Skill

Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus gains 10,000 power if your drop zone has ten or more cards. However, Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus gains 20,000 power and adds one critical instead of 10,000 power if your drop zone has twenty or more cards. He becomes a stronger card in the late game. His attack deals major damage to the opponent, and can win games if your opponent is unable to block Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus.

Furthermore, this skill’s requirements are easily conditions to fulfill. You need to play many cards with the ability to mill cards to the drop zone. The right combination of rear-guards will send many cards the drop zone. Ruin Shade is a good rear-guard for the job. Her first skill sends the top two cards from the deck to the drop zone.

Second Skill

The card’s text of the second effect confuses some players. I must admit is poorly worded in English by Bushiroad. Allow me to clear the air if this skill confuses you. The second skill superior calls the same number of cards from the drop zone as there are grade three cards in the soul plus two. You will superior call at least two units if you do not have any grade 3 cards in the soul.

Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus lives up to his name! He superior calls at least two cards from the drop zone. It is a consistent skill to use your drop zone as a source for units. You can create a field with powerful rear-guards to overwhelm your opponent! Many cards in Granblue have chemistry with Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus.

Premium Format

Finally, Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus has very little support in the premium format. You do not have a large library of cards just for this card and its archetype. Its best supportive cards are Skeleton Demon World Knight and Ice Prison Hades Deity, Cocytus Negative. They support the archetype and the strategy of using the drop zone to gain resources.

Play these cards with Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus in the premium format!
  • Ice Prison Hades Deity, Cocytus Negative
  • Ice Prison Hades Emperor, Cocytus “Яeverse”
  • Skeleton Demon World Knight
Card Rating

Overall, Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus is a good card for the standard format, and needs more support for the premium format. It is a great card to pair with King of Demonic Seas, Basskirk. I recommend playing a full set of both vanguards in the same deck. The second skill of Ice Prison Necromancer, Cocytus is a great skill for building a strong field. You can create a powerful field with strong units to win the game.
