Unit of The Week: Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora

For my lovely children to prosper, the world must first be destroyed.

[AUTO](VC)[1/Turn]:[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (VC), or when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose a column, and your opponent cannot call cards to the (RC) in that column during the next turn.
[AUTO](VC) Generation Break 1:[Soul Blast (1)] At the beginning of your ride phase, you may pay the cost. If you do, your opponent chooses a face up card from his or her damage zone, turns it face down, and you Counter Charge (1).

Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora is the queen of Megacolony. She gives birth to all warriors from Megacolony. She disappeared after Gyze was sealed by the holy sword. There were rumors about her death, but they were all false. She waited for Gyze’s return to return to the surface. She and her fellow apostles of Gyze are launching a full-scale attack on Cray. Her dream is for Gyze to destroy the universe, and she will conquer the new world. She hopes to become queen of the universe.

First Skill

Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora’s first skill restricts opponents from calling cards to a column during their next turn. This skill will continue throughout a game to limit an opponent’s options. One column is basically removed from the game. This defensive skill is great because opponents will have less attacks than normal. However, opponents can get around this skill. Opponents can call units in both columns before Gredora is on the field. I would call two rear-guards with abilities to gain power in the front row. I would  have enough power to hit Gredora or force the opponent to play a guardian.

Second Skill: Generation Break 1

Gredora’s second skill absorbs an opponent’s Counter Blast. Your opponent turns a face up card from his or her damage face down, and you counter charge one card. Your opponent will a resource every turn. Their ability to use their skills is weaken. This skill is also useful for regaining resources for your skills. You can use this to continue Gredora’s hold on your opponent’s columns, or you can use it for other skills.

Finally, Gredora’s Generation Break has great chemistry with Poison Sickle Mutant Deity, Overwhelm. Megacolony’s biggest weakness was its lack of producing offense. That disadvantage has faded since Poison Sickle Mutant Deity, Overwhelm entered the game. She gives 2,000 power for each face down card in your opponent’s damage zone to your units. This rare burst in power will catch opponents by surprise!

Card Rating

Overall, Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora is one of the best defensive cards in the game. Her first skill restricts opponents’ offenses, and her Generation Break drains opponents’ resources. She has the potential to completely remove opponents opportunities to use their counter blasts for skills. Poison Sickle Mutant Deity, Overwhelm uses your opponent’s face down cards in the damage zone to fuel Megacolony’s offensive burst! Offense sells tickets and  Evil Governor, Darkface Gredora’s defense wins championships.
