The power that has been accumulated in secrecy will awaken now.

[AUTO](VC) Ritual 3 (Active if there are three or more grade 1 cards in your drop zone):[Choose two normal units from your drop zone, and put them on the bottom of your deck in any order] At the beginning of your ride phase, you may pay the cost. [AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1) & Choose one of your rear-guards, and retire it] During your turn, when your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to two grade 1 or less cards, call them to separate (RC), shuffle your deck.

Shadow Paladins finally have their special ability! Their ability is Ritual. Ritual is active if three or more grade 1 units are in your drop zone. Dragheart, Luard is an elf with magical abilities. He being a wizard makes him the perfect fit to have Ritual. Kazuma plays Luard as his ace card in Cardfight!! Vanguard G.

First Effect

Dragheart, Luard has an extremely powerful Ritual. You are not required to pay the cost for Stride if Ritual is available. You do not lose any cards for striding to the next generation. This is useful if you are low on cards or have an empty hand. You are able to maintain your resources and use them in other areas. I like to add four draw triggers in every deck to have power to draw extra cards. Dragheart, Luard’s Rital can also help you build a large hand.

Second Effect

His second skill activates your G-Unit Stride to the vanguard circle. You retire one unit in exchange to superior call two grade one or less cards from your deck. Losing one card to gain two cards is not a bad ability. Most of Shadow Paladin’s skills require you to retire at least one rear-guard. Retire a grade one unit to set up Ritual.

Play these units with Dragheart, Luard!
  • Dragabyss, Luard
  • Draganger, Ogma
  • Dragwizard, Morfessa

Finally, Shadow Paladins have many good grade one units to play with Luard. Black-winged Swordbreaker is the best target for Luard’s second skill. She soul blasts one card to draw a card from the deck. You will gain four cards if you superior call two Black-winged Swordbreakers. Abyssal Owl is another choice to superior call. Luard can quickly use your counters blasts and Abyssal Owl can counter charge your damage.

Card Rating

Overall, Dragheart, Luard is going to be one of the best grade 3 cards in the game. He is a very efficient card because he retains your resources. His first skill makes him one of the most attractive grade 3 units for a deck of Shadow Paladins. You are not paying for the most important element of the game and that element is Stride in the current game. Dragheart, Luard’s Ritual will lead you to victory!
