My Deck Projects: Nov 2014 Update

Three months ago I shot a video showcasing my deck projects for Cardfight!! Vanguard. Here’s a new update on which decks I am working on. I’m actually working on a ridiculous amount of decks at the moment so I’m going to be focused on my four most important decks to me for the next six months. The majority of my decks are very causal and fun. Competitive decks often do not appeal to me because they are typically boring. I find building unique decks more fulfilling and challenging to make these decks as consistent as possible to win a good amount of games.

Blue Ginyu Force

The Ginyu Force are some of my favorite characters from Dragon Ball. They are the series fun villains with their own style. It’s awesome to see a team of villains who care about each other like a group of brothers. They are like the Z Fighters except they are villains who work for Frieza.

This is the first ever DBZ deck that I am going to build for Panini America’s version. My first deck won’t be perfect or have some of the staple cards. It’s a learning process for me to grab a good understanding of the game’s foundation. My first deck is none other than the Ginyu Force in blue! Despite being considered the best deck by many players, the cards required for the deck are very affordable.

Survival victory and most powerful personality victory are the only types of victories that I am aiming towards winning games. The deck heavily relies on allies to pressure my opponents. Captain Ginyu’s powers allow allies to perform actions every combat regardless of his current power stage. There are way too many attacks for them to block. Captain Ginyu can quickly level up to achieve most powerful personality victory thanks to Blue Protective Mastery.

King Alfred’s Army

The Blaster Blade trial deck was the first trial deck that I purchased when I got into Cardfight!! Vanguard. I have worked on the deck since that very first day. It wasn’t soon afterwards that I pulled SP copies of Blaster Blade and King of Knights, Alfred from random booster packs at my locals. The signs were there for me to build a Royal Paladin deck.

This is going to my one of my two main decks for the next year. This deck is very vanilla besides Blaster Blade with his ability to retire opponent’s rear-guards. Ezzell’s skill opens the deck’s ratio possibilities by allowing me to run three copies of Libergal to fuel Ezzel’s Legion skill.

The G Units work well with the deck’s strategy of superior calling units from the deck. Saint Blow Dragon’s skill will allow it to take advantage of the full field and Gablade can perform killer combos with Blaster Blade.

The Dark Knights

The Shadow Paladins became my favorite clan as I can relate to their cold and unforgiving attitude.
Unlike Blaster Blade, Blaster Dark and me would have never forgiven Link Joker for their terrible crimes against their brothers and sisters. Blaster Dark is my avatar so I must make a deck built around his new legion with Revenger, Phantom Blaster “Abyss”.

The deck is very generic because Revenger, Phantom Blaster “Abyss” uses a lot of counter blasts to activate its Legion skill. Modred Phantom and Judgebau Revenger are the only two cards that can also use counter blasts. I’m hoping Bushiroad will make one more critical trigger for I can run a full set of 12 critical triggers. The draw trigger is just there to complete the requirement to have 16 triggers in the deck.

Supreme Spellcasters

My Supreme Spellcasters deck is my favorite deck. I’m always playing it in almost every duel at locals. Earlier this year, I released the first version of this deck, and since then many new support cards for the Dark Magician were released.

The deck is very generic like most of my decks and almost every card works in sync with each other. My strategy is to control the field by constantly destroying and banishing my opponent’s cards, and to beatdown by special summoning the strongest monster as quickly and often as possible. The deck’s generic nature also allows me to adjust my strategy depending on my opponent’s deck.
