First Effect:
Chronicle Magician special summons himself in defense position from your hand if you normal or special summon a normal monster with 2,500 ATK or DEF. A special summon without a cost is a nice advantage because you do not pay any resources. Your field gains a free monster.
Furthermore, this effect supports Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Dark Magician has 2,500 ATK and Blue-Eyes White Dragon has 2,500 DEF. They are the perfect monsters for this effect’s conditions.
In addition, Chronicle Magician is a natural fit in a deck with the Dark Magician. Spellcasters have a lot of support. You can easily special summon Dark Magician and then you can special summon Chronicle Magician.
Second Effect:
Chronicle Magician adds 2,500 ATK and DEF to a Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes White Dragon when you special summon him. You can deal massive damage to an opponent with Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Their ATK would enable them to destroy most monsters in the game.
Furthermore Chronicle Magician’s first and second effects complement him. He special summons himself to the field and adds ATK to either Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes White Dragon. He triggers both of his effects on the same turn.

Overall, Chronicle Magician is a nice card for Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. He generates a lot of offense on your field. You have the potential to deal massive damage to an opponent. Chronicle Magician fits decks with Dark Magician better than Blue-Eyes White Dragon due to the support for spellcasters. I recommend playing one copy of Chronicle Magician in your decks.
