Toshiki Kai and Dragonic Overlord return in the newest format of Cardfight!! Vanguard. Dragonic Overlord has received an upgrade for the standard format. His returns with new skills and a powerful mechanic. Kagero has the Imaginary Gift, Force. Force gives 10,000 power to any circle during a player’s turn. Dragonic Overlord has the Force marker. He takes full advantage of his new capabilities.
First Skill
Dragonic Overlord’s first skill soul blasts a single card and he gains 10,000 power until the end of the turn. You can easily stack an additional 20,000 power to Dragonic Overlord on his first turn on the field. The Force marker gives 10,000 power to him, and his skill gives another 10,000 power. Furthermore, you want to use this ability to strengthen Dragonic Overlord to set up his second skill. The additional power pressures your opponent in the late game.
Play these cards with Dragonic Overlord!
- Dragonic Overlord the Great
- Dragonic Waterfall
- Flame of Hope, Aermo
Dragonic Overlord’s second skill stands himself after its attack hits a unit, and it is a strong finisher for Kagero. This skill is far superior to the original card’s skill. The updated skill stands Dragonic Overlord after its attack hits a unit, and he loses one drive check. Dragonic Overlord will have 33,000 power on its first turn with its first skill and Force marker. First, you may attack an opponent’s rear-guard, and Dragonic Overlord will stand if your opponent allows the attack to hit his or her rear-guard.
Finally, better cards to support Dragonic Overlord will be released in Unite! Team Q4. Dragonic Gaias is one of the best rear-guards from the booster set. He increases Dragonic Overlord’s critical damage and he goes into the soul. Flame of Hope, Aermo is back with new skills. He counter charges to replenish your resources. Be sure to grab these cards of it for your deck.
Overall, the new Dragonic Overlord is a huge improve from its predecessor. I tested it over the weekend. This card packs a huge punch out of the gate. The skills are very simple and complement each other. Dragonic Overlord can overwhelm an opponent early in a game if he or she is unable to stop its attacks at their rear-guard and vanguard. Dragonic Overlord will be better with new cards from Unite! Team Q4.
