We will be storming the enemy lines now! Steel yourselves!

[AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (VC) or (RC) from hand, COST [Soul Blast (1)], search your deck for up to one grade 1 or less card with “Revenger” in its card name, call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck. At the end of that turn, retire that unit.

Bushiroad retired Dark Cloak Revenger, Tartu for V-Premium Format of Cardfight!! Vanguard. This new version of the Shadow Paladin has a very similar ability as the original card. Dark Cloak Revenger, Tartu has the single purpose of providing resources for your vanguard to retire from the field for a powerful ability.

Ability:

Dark Cloak Revenger, Tartu superior calls one grade one card with Revenger in its name from the deck. You may only activate this ability when you place this card on the vanguard circle or a rear-guard circle from your hand. It is an useful ability due to it adds a rear-guard on the field, and you may retire it for another unit’s ability.

The requirement to retire your new unit from the deck is not a major drawback. The new rear-guard will not survive the turn. The rear-guard’s purpose is to be retired for the cost of your vanguard’s ability.

Furthermore, this ability supports Revenger,  Phantom (V Series) and Revenger, Raging Form Dragon (V Series). These units’ abilities require you to retire rear-guards for the cost. An additional rear-guard from the deck with Dark Cloak Revenger Tartu’s ability helps pay the heavy cost of those units’ abilities.

Support:

Dark Cloak Revenger, Tartu has a good amount of support in the V-Premium Format. She has many targets with her first ability. She has synergy with some of the grade 3 units in her archetype.
