First Effect:
Debris Dragon sets up plays for Synchro Summons. Debris Dragon special summons a monster with 500 or less ATK from your graveyard. You gain a monster for Synchro Material. The Synchro Summon may only require two monsters. You have Debris Dragon and this monster for material.
A common combination is Debris Dragon and Dandylion. These monsters are a dynamic duo with amazing synergy. You may use them to Synchro summon Black Rose Dragon!
Second Effect:
Debris Dragon has restrictions on the type of Synchro Monster that you can summon with Debris Dragon as Synchro Material. You may only Synchro Summon a dragon. In addition, the other material cannot be level 4.
Furthermore, these restrictions limit your ability to play particular Synchro Monsters. An Extra Deck needs mostly or only dragon monsters. You cannot effectively play Debris Dragon in a deck without an Extra Deck with no dragons as Synchro monsters.
Keep these restrictions in your mind. You need add weak monsters with 500 ATK or less in a deck. In addition, an Extra Deck needs dragons as Synchro Monsters.
XYZ:
While you may not use a level 4 monster as Synchro Material with Debris Dragon, you may use a level 4 monster as XYZ material. These restrictions from the second effect do not affect Link Summons and XYZ Summons. Debris Dragon’s first effect enables the summon of a Rank 4 XYZ monster. You need at least to monsters for the summon.
For example, you may use Debris Dragon to special summon Armed Samurai – Ben Kei. Both of these monsters are level 4. You may overlay them to XYZ summon Number 39: Utopia.

Anime History: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s
Debris Dragon makes his debut during an epic duel in episode 64 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s. The duel featured Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan against Rex Goodwin. Yusei normal summons Debris Dragon, and he uses its effect to special summon Sonic Chick. Then, he uses his monsters to Synchro summon Stardust Dragon!
Card Rating:
Overall, Debris Dragon is a good Tuner monster for decks with dragons as Synchro Monsters. I recommend playing three copies of Debris Dragon if your deck features Synchro Monsters that are dragons. The deck gains advantages from this card. You can consistently Synchro Summon very powerful monsters. Debris Dragon ensures a deck’s consistency with its ability to special summon a monster from your graveyard.
