His new effect is far superior to his original effect.
Blast Monk of the Thundering Foot’s effect binds of your opponent’s rear-guards face down when he attacks. Then, you also counter Soul Charge a card if you chose a grade 2 unit. I like this skill’s ability to disrupt my opponent’s field. It removes your opponent’s best rear-guard from the field. You can remove a grade 2 with intercept to weaken your opponent’s defenses.
Furthermore, this effect effectively counter decks that rely on rear-guards. Decks with cards such as Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark are vulnerable to this card. You are removing necessary cards to your opponent’s strategy. Then, they are unable to properly function without those cards. For example, Monarch Sanctuary Alfred cannot send Blaster Blade from the drop zone to your hand if Blaster Blade is in the bind zone.

Premium Format

You are preventing the premium format’s craziest combos to occur in games. However, the premium format has cards with resist. Those cards with resist are cannot be targeted by this effect.

Overall, Blast Monk of the Thundering Foot is one of Link Joker’s best generic cards. He helps Link Joker decks control the field. I recommend playing this card in most Link Joker decks for both formats. He perfectly fits in Deletors and Messiah. Play four copies of this card in your decks.
