Konami is releasing two new Starter Decks next month and a new format to return Yu-Gi-Oh! to its glory days. This new format is Speed Duels. Speed Duel Starter Decks: Destiny Masters & Duelists of Tomorrow are the first two starter decks to support Speed Duels. Each starter deck contains three decks with 20 cards each.
Konami’s successful Duel Links mobile game returns the game to its roots. Players are enjoying a slow-paced and balanced game. There are not any worries about complex cards or mechanics such as Link Summoning. You can play the game like you did when Yu-Gi-Oh! was first introduced. It is time to duel!
Furthermore, Speed Duels introduces a new card type Skill cards. These cards have special abilities for its duelist. They turn the duel in your favor! Many of these cards are from Duel Links, and new Skill cards are also included in each starter deck. Skill cards are only legal in Speed Duels.
Finally, you may play cards from Speed Duel Starter Decks at regular Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments. You will be able to find cool reprints of your favorite monsters. Many classic decks have new support, and you will have easy access to classic cards. However, the only exception is Skill cards. Skill cards are not legal at regular tournaments, and may only be played in Speed Duels.
Speed Duel Starter Decks: Destiny Masters includes:
1 20-Card Yami Yugi Deck
1 20-Card Ishizu Ishtar Deck
1 20-Card Pegasus Deck
9 Skill Cards (3 for Yugi, 3 for Ishizu and 3 for Pegasus)
