Machining Spark Hercules is the first rebooted card from the Limit Break era to debut in Cardfight!! Vanguard V. I welcome his new version. He is no longer bound the limitations of Limit Break. You may use his abilities when you are able to without worrying about your amount of damage. He is now a faster and more playable card than his original version.
Machining Spark Hercules’s first skill stands your rear-guards and they gain 5,000 power. Then, you rest your opponent’s units and they lose 5,000 power until the end of your opponent’s next turn. His skill is one of the best defensive tactics in the game. It weakens rear-guards to it easier to block their attacks, and you would only need to use a few cards to block attacks. The skill also makes some rear-guards unable to hit Machining Spark Hercules without getting help from skills and triggers.
Next, Machining Sparks Hercules’s second skill packs a lot of firepower! Once per turn you may put a grade 2 or less rear-guard into the soul, and Machining Spark Hercules gain 5,000 power for each your opponent’s resting units. Machining Spark Hercules will gain 30,000 power if your opponent has six resting units. Then, his total power would rise to 42,000 before a boost from a rear-guard. However, Machining Spark Hercules is not unstoppable, and your opponent can negate the attack with a Sentinel.
Finally, one of the best rear-guards to play with Machining Spark Hercules is Bloody Hercules. He counter-charges damage to enable Machining Spark Hercules to use his skill multiple times in a game. Opponents will be forced to block Bloody Hercules’ attack to avoid being at a disadvantage for two consecutive turns. This is easier said than done. Bloody Hercules gains 6,000 power when he is called from your hand.
Overall, Machining Spark Hercules is the best defensive unit in Cardfight!! Vanguard V. His skills elevate his offense, but I am more impressed by his defensive skills. It’s the defensive part of his skill that truly shines. Offense sales tickets, defense wins championships, and Machining Spark Hercules is packing offense and defense to victory!
