Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Review: Trickstar Corobane

If you control no monsters, or all monsters you control are “Trickstar” monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. During the Damage Step, when your “Trickstar” monster battles an opponent’s monster (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; that monster you control gains ATK equal to its original ATK until the end of this turn. You can only use 1 “Trickstar Corobane” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Trickstar Corobane is one of many fairies in Trickstar. She had adorable artwork like many cards in her archetype. She has a respectable 2,000 ATK. Her best features are two two effects. Trickstar Corobane provides useful effects that add consistency to the deck.

First Effect:

Trickstar Corobane special summons herself if you do not have control any monsters or all of your monsters are Trickstar monsters. This is a fantastic effect for a special summon. You play a  level 5 monster without paying a cost or tribute. In addition, you may use Trickstar Corobane as material for a Link Summon.

Furthermore, the first effect quickly sets up special summons from your Extra Deck. With Trickstar Corobane being your first monster, you may normal summon an additional monster. Then, you have at least two monsters to Link Summon a monster such as Trickstar Bella Madonna.

Second Effect:

Trickstar Coronbane is a hand trap for her second effect. This effect may surprise an opponent, who does not know you have the card in your hand. You may discard her when your Trickstar monster battles an opponent’s monster. Your Trickstar monster gains ATK equal to its original ATK.

Furthermore, this is a useful effect for gaining the advantage in battle. Your Trickstar monster with the increase in ATK will destroy the opponent’s monster. You will deal damage to the opponent’s life points.

Third Effect:

You may only use one of Trickstar Coronobane’s effects per turn. You need to wisely choose an effect for the current situation in a duel. Trickstar Corobane provides a presence on the field if you need a monster or she increases your Trickstar monster’s ATK. Both effects provide strong advantages at the right moments.

Add Trickstar Corobane to your hand!

Many Trickstar cards have the effect to add Trickstar Corobane to your hand. You can consistently play her. If you need a monster on the field, then these cards will add Trickstar Corobane to your hand. These cards give instant access to her.

Trickstar Light Stage is one of these cards. Trickstar Light Stage adds a Trickstar monster from your deck to your hand after you play it. You have a strong monster in your hand. Then, you may activate Trickstar Corobane’s first effect to special summon her if you do not have any monsters on the field.

Overall, Trickstar Corobane is an effective monster in Trickstar decks. Her most valuable effect is her first effect. She special summons herself to the field and you may use her as material for a Link Summon. She also has the effect to add power to one of your Trickstar monsters for additional offense. Trickstar Corobane is a consistent card with nice effects.
