Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Review: Time Wizard of Tomorrow

[Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect]

ATK/2,000 DEF/1,900

“Time Wizard” + 1 Effect Monster
Once per turn, while you control this Fusion Summoned card: You can toss a coin and call it. Destroy as many monsters on the field as possible, and if you do, inflict damage equal to half the total original ATK of the destroyed face-up monsters. If you called the coin toss right, your opponent takes the damage, if you called it wrong, you take the damage.

Time Wizard of Tomorrow is the successor of Time Wizard. These spellcasters use luck from a flip of a coin! Time Wizard of Tomorrow is a fusion monster of Time Wizard. His effect is an improvement of the Time Wizard’s effects.

Fusion Summon:

Time Wizard of Tomorrow requires Time Wizard and one effect monster. The requirements for the fusion are simple cards. You may use any effect monster alongside Time Wizard.

The best effect monster for this Fusion Summon is Hundred Dragon because its effects support Time Wizard of Tomorrow. Hundred Dragon prevents the destruction of a monster from the Extra Deck for once per turn. You can activate the effect of Time Wizard of Tomorrow without destroying him.

Effect: Part One

Time Wizard of Tomorrow destroys all monsters on the field, and you flip a coin for you to call it. This effect is a useful ability if your opponent has more monsters than you. The opponent loses all of his or her monsters.

Furthermore, Time Wizard of Tomorrow counters swarm decks. You have the advantage against archetypes such as Six Samurai. Time Wizard of tomorrow destroys all of their monsters and breaks their strategies.

Effect: Part Two

Time Wizard of Tomorrow has a huge reward and a huge risk. You will inflict damage to the opponent if you called the coin right. However, you will inflict damage to yourself if you called the coin wrong. Time Wizard of Tomorrow can swing the duel in  your favor. You only have a fifty percent chance to get the full benefits from Time Wizard of Tomorrow’s powerful effect.

However, this effect has a huge risk. You are gambling your chances of victory with monster. You can potentially inflict massive damage to yourself, and you may lose the duel if your life points drop to zero.

Card Rating:

Overall, Time Wizard of Tomorrow is a major improvement from Time Wizard. I only recommend Time Wizard of Tomorrow in casual decks due to the high risk and high reward from this card. You gain at least one advantage with his effect. His effect destroys all monsters on the field. He can also inflict major damage to your opponent or yourself from the coin toss.

Card Rating: [usr 2.5]
