First Effect:

Shire, Lightsworn Spirit gains 300 ATK for each different monster with Lightsworn in its name in your graveyard. This effect monster becomes more powerful throughout the duel. She requires a pure deck with Lightsworn. This requirement is not a problem because it requires a deck with the archetype.

Furthermore, Lightsworn consistently increases the ATK of Shire, Lightsworn Spirit. Many monsters in the archetype send the top cards of the deck to the graveyard. The graveyard consistently gains new monsters with Lightsworn in their names during each end phase.

Therefore, Shire, Lightsworn Spirit becomes a powerful monster in the late game. Your graveyard should have a variety of monsters with Lightsworn. in their name. Her ATK will reach a high amount.

For instance, Shire, Lightsworn Spirit gains 2,100 ATK if your graveyard has 7 different monsters with Lightsworn in their names. Her total ATK becomes 2,500. She can defeat many monsters in battle.

However, the first effect of Shire, Lightsworn Spirit is a slow skill. You will only see the benefits during the late game. The archetype has better options for offense and control of the field.

Second Effect:

Shire, Lightsworn Spirit sends the top two cards of the deck to the graveyard during the end phase. This is a standard effect for Lightsworn. It is a key part of the archetype’s strategy.

Furthermore, this effect of Shire, Lightsworn Spirit has synergy with many cards. It establishes a field with Felis, Lightsworn Archer and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast. It sets up the special summon of Judgment Dragon.

For instance, Shire, Lightsworn Spirit may special summon Felis, Lightsworn Archer and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast with the second effect. Felis, Lightsworn Archer and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast special summon themselves when an effect sends them to the graveyard. You special summon these monsters at the end phase.

For instance, Shire, Lightsworn Spirit supports Judgment Dragon. This effect monster is milling cards to the graveyard. Judgment Dragon requires four different monsters with Lightsworn in their names for its special summon. This effect monster may potentially send two monsters with Lightsworn in their names to the graveyard.

Extra Deck Material:

Shire, Lightsworn Spirit can be material for many monsters with Lightsworn in their names in the extra deck. You can use her for synchro summons and link summons. The archetype has these types of monsters.

For instance, you may use Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn and Shire, Lightsworn Spirit as materials for the synchro summon of Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn. Both of these effect monsters have a total level of seven. You now have one of the best synchro monsters on the field.

You may also use Shire, Lightsworn Spirit and two other monsters with Lightsworn in the names for the link summon of Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion. All three monsters must have different types. Then, you will have this link monster on the field.

Use Shire, Lightsworn Spirit as material for these monsters from the extra deck!

Card Rating:

Overall, Shire, Lightsworn Spirit is a mediocre card for Lightsworn. The archetype has better cards. This effect monster is very slow due to it requires many monsters with Lightsworn in their names in the graveyard to gain ATK. You will rarely gain the advantage of this card’s first effect. Therefore, I only recommend playing Shire, Lightsworn Spirit in a casual deck.

Card Rating: 2.0 out of 5.0 stars
