You can only use each effect of “Darklord Ixchel” once per turn. You can only Special Summon “Darklord Ixchel(s)” once per turn.

Darklord Ixchel is a fairy and member of Darklord from Yu-Gi-Oh!. She is an effect monster with three effects. Her effects provide resources from the deck and the graveyard. She helps the player to draw cards and she may activate the effects of spells and traps with Darklord in their names from your graveyard.

First Effect:

Darklord Ixchel allows you to discard her and another card with Darklord in its name. Then, you may draw two cards. It is a good effect for getting access to key cards from the deck. You may discard less effective cards against the opponent. This effect also sets up other effects. It leads to powerful combos for Darklord.

Furthermore, this effect may potentially set up the second effect of Darklord Ixchel. Darklord Ixchel may activate the effects of a spell or trap in your graveyard. You may discard a spell or trap card for the cost of this effect. This monster may activate the card in the graveyard.

In addition, this effect helps you to get more useful cards in your hand. You may need a particular card against the opponent’s field. This effect provides the opportunity to potentially draw useful cards.

Second Effect:

Darklord Ixchel may activate the effects of a spell or trap with Darklord in its name from your graveyard, and you return this spell or trap card to the bottom of the deck. The effect costs 1,000 life points. It is a useful effect with a major advantage. You have the opportunity to reactivate the effects of cards after you have played these cards earlier during the duel.

Furthermore, this effect is a quick effect. You may activate it during either player’s turn. This strategy allows you to activate any spell or trap to counter the opponent during his or her turn.

In addition, you may activate the effects of a spell or trap from the cost of the first effect. You can discard one of these types of cards with Darklord in their names. Then,  Darklord Ixchel may activate the effect of the spell or trap. This strategy minimizes the cost of the first effect of this effect monster.

One of the best traps to activate with Darklord Ixchel is Darklord Uprising. This trap card fusion summons one dark fusion monster and adds life points equal to the monster sent to the graveyard for the cost. You gain a fusion monster and recover the life points for the cost of Darklord Ixchel’s effect.

Third Effect:

Darklord Ixchel only can be special summoned once per turn. This restriction limits your ability to special summon this effect monster. You have one opportunity per turn.

Furthermore, this effect applies to any method to special summon this effect monster. For example, Darklord Morningstar may special summon Darklord Ixchel from the deck. You now have this effect monster on the field. You are not able to special summon this effect monster for the remainder of the turn.

Support:

Darklord Ixchel has excellent support from her archetype of Darklord. You can consistently play this fairy. Cards from the archetype can search her from the deck. Cards may special summon her from the graveyard or the deck.

Multiple cards from Darklord may special summon Darklord Ixchel. These cards provide easy methods to play this effect monster. Darklord Contact may special summon Darklord Ixchel from the graveyard in defense position, and Darklord Morningstar may special summon Darklord Ixchel from the deck. You are in position to use this effect monster’s second effect and activate the effects of a spell or trap in your graveyard.
