Apply these effects in sequence, based on the number of “Dark Magician” and/or “Dark Magician Girl” on the field and in the GYs.
● 1+: 1 DARK Spellcaster monster on the field gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn.
● 2+: This turn, your opponent cannot activate cards and effects in response to your Spell/Trap Card or effect activation, also Spells/Traps you control cannot be destroyed by your opponent’s card effects.
● 3+: DARK Spellcaster monsters you currently control are unaffected by your opponent’s card effects, until the end of this turn.
Dark Magic Expanded is a quick-play spell card with multiple effects. This spell card provides support for the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. All of its effects have useful benefits. You can activate this card during either player’s turn because it is a quick-play spell card.
Three Effects:
Dark Magic Expanded has three effects and you may activate each effect with the requirement for the number of cards with Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on your field or in your graveyard. You are able to activate more effects when your field or graveyard meets the conditions. Each effect requirements a minimum amount of Dark Magicians or Dark Magician Girls on the field or in the graveyard.
In addition, many cards’ names become Dark Magician due to their effects. They count as the total for this spell’s effect. The names of Dark Magician the Dragon Knight, Magician of Chaos become Dark Magician. They help set up the effects of this spell card.
Therefore, this quick-play spell card becomes more useful in the late game. You will have multiple copies of Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl on the field or in the graveyard. You should be able to consistently activate all three effects.

First Effect:
Dark Magic Expanded adds 1,000 ATK to one spellcaster with the attribute of dark. This additional ATK can provide a nice advantage during either players’ turns. It adds offense for a single turn. It may also help your dark spellcaster in battle.
Furthermore, Dark Magic Expanded provides a defensive strategy in battle. You can activate this quick-play spell card when the opponent declares an attack at your monster. Your spellcaster gains ATK during battle for the entire turn. This increase in ATK may help your spellcaster destroy the opponent’s monster.
For example, you may activate Dark Magic Expanded when the opponent’s Blue-Eyes White Dragon with 3,000 ATK attacks your Dark Magician. The Dark Magician’s ATK becomes 3,500. Then, this spellcaster would destroy the opponent’s Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Second Effect:
Dark Magic Expanded prevents the opponent from responding to your spells and traps, and the opponent cannot destroy your spells and traps. Spells and traps are key cards for the Dark Magician. They provide powerful effects for the deck.
Furthermore, this effect prevents the opponent from negating any your spells and traps for the entire turn. You can easily play cards such as The Eye of Timaeus, and the opponent cannot respond do it. you can easily conduct your strategy and gain momentum from strong combos.
In addition, Eternal Soul and Dark Magical Circle are key cards for Dark Magician. You want protection for these cards from Dark Magic Expanded. Eternal Soul Soul special summons a Dark Magician. Dark Magical Circle banishes one of the opponent’s cards from the field.
Third Effect:
Dark Magic Expanded prevents the opponent’s effects affecting your dark spellcasters for the turn. The opponent cannot easily destroy your monsters. This quick-play spell card is an effective card to activate its effect during the opponent’s turn. It counters the opponent’s strategy of destroying your monsters with his or her effects.
This effect provides protection to monsters such as Apprentice Illusion Magician, Dark Magician, and Dark Magician Girl. These monsters do not protect themselves with their effects. They rely on cards such as Dark Magic Expanded for protection from the opponent’s effects.
Support:
Dark Magic Expanded is an easy card to play. Many cards allow you to consistently activate at least one its effects because you can quickly summon the Dark Magician to the field. Cards in the archetype add this quick-play spell card to your hand. You have access to this card when you need it.
Many cards have the ability to add Dark Magic Expanded to your hand. Dark Magic Circle and Magician’s Rod add this spell card to your hand. These cards provide great support and you will have access to this quick-play spell card.

Card Rating:
Overall, Dark Magic Expanded is a useful card for the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. It provides necessary protection for the deck’s best cards. You want protection for cards such as Enteral Soul. The opponent is not able to easily destroy your cards due to these effects. Therefore, I recommend playing one to two copies of Dark Magic Expanded in your deck.
