This card’s name becomes “Cyber Dragon” while on the field or in the GY. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can make all “Cyber Dragon” you currently control become Level 5. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this effect, except Machine monsters. If this card is banished: You can target 1 “Cyber Dragon” you control; it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn.
Cyber Dragon Drei is a machine monster in the series of the cards with the effect to change its name to Cyber Dragon. This machine monster has a respectable ATK of 1,800 and DEF of 800. Cyber Dragon Drei has two effects. You may use this effect monster as material in place of Cyber Dragon for a variety of Fusion Summons, XYZ summons, and Link Summons.
First Effect:
Cyber Dragon Drei adds consistency to the deck. The name of Cyber Dragon Drei becomes Cyber Dragon when this effect monster is on the field or in your graveyard. This effect on its name opens the door to many possibilities. You always have Cyber Dragon on the field or in the graveyard with this card.
Therefore, you can create many awesome combos with Cyber Dragon Drei. You may use this effect monster in place of the true Cyber Dragon for fusion summons, link summons, and effects. This effect monster consistently sets up your combos.
In addition, this effect provides consistency for your fusion summons. You may use Cyber Dragon Drei as fusion material for fusion monsters that require Cyber Dragon. For instance, you may use Cyber Dragon Drei as fusion material for Cyber Twin Dragon.
Second Effect:
The purpose of the second effect is setting up your XYZ summons. Cyber Dragon Drei changes the level of all of your Cyber Dragons to level 5. This effect also affects itself due to change in its name from the first effect. Therefore, every Cyber Dragon on your field is level 5. They are the perfect materials for a XYZ summon of a rank five XYZ monster.
In addition, this effect affects all monsters with the name of Cyber Dragon. This condition affects cards such as Cyber Dragon Drei and Cyber Dragon Core. The effect removes the requirement of Cyber Dragon on the field because your other cards with the same name now have the proper levels of the original card.
This effect also restricts you to only special summon machine monsters for the remainder of the turn when you active this effect. This restriction is not a major problem. Decks with Cyber Dragon mainly include machine monsters so you may continue special summoning your Cyber Dragons.
XYZ Summons:
Furthermore, Cyber Dragon Drei sets up your field for XYZ summons of rank five XYZ monsters. The first effect allows this this set up. All of your Cyber Dragons are now level five. They fit the requirement for rank five XYZ summons.
In addition, machines have a good library of XYZ monsters. Cyber Dragon Nova and Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry are good XYZ monsters. You may easily special summon these cards.
For Instance, Cyber Dragon Drei changes its level and the level of Cyber Dragon Core to five. You may use them as material for a rank five monster. You use these cards as XYZ material and XYZ summon Cyber Dragon Nova from your extra deck.

Third Effect:
Cyber Dragon Drei also protects some of your monsters. The effect prevents the opponent from using effects against one of your monsters with the name of Cyber Dragon. Many monsters in the archetype has this name and benefit from this protection.
This effect has immense value for your monsters such as Cyber Dragon and Cyber Dragon Sieger. These monsters now have protection for the turn. Your material for fusions or attempt for an OTK will be more difficult for the opponent to counter.
In addition, you may only activate this ability when you banish Cyber Dragon Drei with a card’s effect. The condition is easy to fulfill. Cyber Network and Interdimensional Matter Transporter may banish this monster.
Furthermore, you may activate this effect during the opponent’s turn with Interdimensional Matter Transporter. It is a brilliant strategy for protecting a Cyber Dragon. You may banish Cyber Dragon Drei and grant protection of a key monster such as Cyber Dragon.

For example Cyber Dragon Drei is a fantastic target for Cyberload Fusion. You may use this effect monster as fusion material. You may special summon a powerful fusion monster with Cyber Dragon as material to the field.

Overall, Cyber Dragon Drei is a solid card for Cyber Dragon. This effect monster is an example of good support for a classic archetype. This card adds consistency to the deck with its effects. The change in its name to Cyber Dragon allows you to continue making strong combos. Therefore, I recommend playing three copies of Cyber Dragon Drei in your deck.
