I would draw a grade 2 card from the soul because I will draw a Protect marker after riding my vanguard.

Ghoulish Despoiler’s second skill retires one of your opponent’s rear-guards, and Ghoulish Despoiler gains 10,000 power until the end of the battle. This skill requires ten cards in the soul, and this requirement is very easy to fulfill with the right cards. Furthermore, he can hit your opponent’s vanguard without needing a booster. I also suggest retiring an opponent’s grade two rear-guard to prevent it from intercepting your attack.
Finally, you can build a deck with Ghoulish Despoiler as the vanguard to control the field. Dark Irregulars have a few rear-guards with the ability to retire an opponent’s rear-guard.
