Sis is watching! I can’t afford to look uncool!
[AUTO](RC):When this unit attacks, if you have a vanguard with “Sorceress” in its card name, look at the top card of your deck. If your vanguard is [Stand], you may put the card you looked at into the soul.
[AUTO](RC):When your drive check reveals a trigger unit, this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn.
Effulgent Wizard is support for Sorceress in the D-Standard Format of Cardfight!! Vanguard. This unit complements the archetype’s strategy with his two abilities. He provides a card for the soul. He also has the potential to create a strong offense if you can meet the conditions.
D-Standard Format:
Effulgent Wizard is a unit for the main deck. Both of his abilities active their effects when he is a rear-guard. The archetype of Sorceress has a complete set of cards for the ride deck.
Furthermore, Effulgent Wizard has standard stats before effects from abilities. He has 10,000 power and 5,000 shield. His second ability, effects from other units, and triggers may increase his power.
First Ability:
Effulgent Wizard looks at the top card of the deck if your vanguard has Sorceress in its name. Then, you place the card in the soul if your vanguard is standing. This ability provides two good options for Sorceress. You may keep the card such as a trigger on the top of the deck or soul charge a card for the cost of your other units’ abilities.
First, this ability allows you to look at the top card of the deck. It is an opportunity to manipulate the deck in your favor. You may keep the card on top of the deck if it is a trigger. You may send it to the soul if it is another type of card. The option provides insight on the current cards in the deck at this moment of the game.
Second, this ability helps build the soul for Sorceress. The archetype depends on this resource. The archetype uses the soul for the cost of abilities. For instance, Four-side Glow Sorceress and Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine” require a soul blast for the cost of their abilities.
Second Ability:
Effulgent Wizard gains 5,000 power when your drive check reveals a trigger. This ability has the potential to create a strong rear-guard. Multiple drive checks may reveal two or more triggers.
Therefore, Effulgent Wizard with at least one reveal of a trigger increases his power to 15,000. He is able to hit an opponent’s vanguard without a boost. A boost from a good rear-guard will only increase the power to a high level.
Furthermore, multiple reveals of triggers can further strengthen Effulgent Wizard, and put pressure on the opponent in battle. For example three reveals of triggers increase the total power of Effulgent Wizard to 25,000 before a boost. This unit has an opportunity to inflict damage.
Support:
Effulgent Wizard has support from Sorceress. This card has synergy with many cards in the archetype. He is a great piece for the deck’s strategy to manipulate the deck. He provides offense due to his second ability.
Furthermore, Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine” is the best vanguard for Effulgent Wizard. These units complement each others’ abilities. Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine” may stand Effulgent Wizard for a second battle during the turn. This grade 2 unit may attack the opponent’s vanguard or rear-guard. Then, this grade two unit stands for a second battle with the potential increase in power from the second ability if your drive checks revealed any triggers.

Premium Format:
Effulgent Wizard is a legal card in the United Sanctuary in the premium format. You may play this card with Genesis, Gold Paladin, Oracle Think Tank, Royal Paladin, and Shadow Paladin. This grade 2 unit best fits with G-Units from Oracle Think Tank due to his ability to manipulate the deck. He requires a deck with Sorceress as your vanguard because his abilities require this archetype.
Furthermore, Effulgent Wizard is only able to unleash his full potential with a pure deck of Sorceress in the premium format. You only need a vanguard from this archetype as your heart for a G-Unit. Hexaorb Sorceress and Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine” are currently the best vanguards for this grade two unit.
In addition, Sterling Witch, MoMo is one of the best G-Units from Oracle Think Tank, and she enhances the power of Effulgent Wizard. This G-Unit may add up to 30,000 power to this grade two unit. Therefore, Effulgent Wizard has a total of 40,000 power. He puts a lot of pressure on the opponent in battle.

Card Rating:
Overall, Effulgent Wizard is a good unit for Sorceress. He is a complementary piece in decks with Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine”. He has a stellar offense if your drive checks reveal triggers. This grade two unit helps build the soul or manipulate the deck. Therefore, I recommend playing four copies of Effulgent Wizard in decks with Hexaorb Sorceress, “Aquamarine”.
