Unit of The Week: Black Observe, Hamiel

Seems like there’s no fever. Other causes to consider would be……

[AUTO](VC/RC):When placed, if you have a vanguard with “Black” in its card name, COST [Counter Blast (1)], call a card from your damage zone to (RC), and deal one damage to your vanguard. This ability may only be used by a card with the same card name once a turn. (Perform a damage check)
[AUTO](RC):When it attacks, COST [Counter Blast (3)], until end of that battle, this unit gets [Power]+15000/[Critical]+1, and your opponent cannot call sentinels from his or her hand to (GC). At the end of that battle, put this unit into your soul.

Black Observe, Hamiel is a powerful card for Angel Feather. This card is a grade 3 unit with the Imaginary Gift: Protect. This unit truly shines her abilities as a rear-guard. She is one of the best rear-guards Angel Feather in the V-Premium Format.

First Ability:

Black Observe, Hamiel superior calls a unit from the damage zone and deals one damage to the vanguard during your turn. This ability provides a rear-guard for your field. The damage check is an opportunity for triggers before your battle phase.

Furthermore, the damage check has the potential to provide a solid offense. You may reveal a trigger such as a critical trigger. One of your units gain the effects and this unit puts additional pressure on the opponent in battle.

This ability has synergy with many cards from Angel Feather. You can create strong combos with units such as Black Closure, Zophiel and Black Mapping, Salaphiel. These units’ abilities activate when you place them from anywhere, and they also perform damage checks.

Furthermore, the counter blast is an illusion of the cost. This ability does not have a cost if you play it correctly. You may counter blast a card and superior call the same unit from the damage zone.

Second Ability:

Black Observe, Hamiel is a juggernaut on offense. She gains 15,000 power and a second critical. She also prevents the opponent from calling a sentinel during her battle. Her effect forces the opponent to use alternative cards for defense against her.

The combination of an increase in offense and a restriction in the opponent’s defense is a strong skill. Black Observe, Hamiel gains 15,000 power and an additional critical. Her total power becomes 27,000, and she has the potential of greater power if you damage checks reveal triggers.

Therefore, Black Observe, Hamiel puts a lot of pressure on the opponent. Two damage from a single battle is major damage, and can end the game if the opponent is unable to block this angel in battle. A boost from a rear-guard with 8,000 power and this ability increase Black Observe, Hamiel’s power to 35,000 before the effects of triggers. Opponents would need to call multiple cards to block this attack.

In addition, Black Obeserve Hamiel becomes a key resource for the deck. She goes into the soul after the battle. She builds the soul for the cost of your other units. You can consistently activate the abilities of your other units. For example, Black Mapping, Salaphiel and Black Shiver, Gavrail (V Series) need to soul blast cards for the cost of their abilities.

  • Second Ability Cost:

However, this ability has a huge cost of 3 counter blasts. You can regain your counter blasts on your following turn. You will need Black Mapping, Salaphiel and Black Closure, Zophiel to remove the face down damage and deal damage for new face up cards in the damage zone.

Support:

Black Observe, Hamiel belongs in a deck with Black Gravers. She needs a vanguard with Black in its name. She only fits in her archetype. A few generic cards support this unit as well.

Furthermore, Black Observe, Hamiel is a good backup vanguard and a great rear-guard for Black Shiver, Gavrail (V Series). These cards complement each other very well. The combination of these cards enable three damage checks during your main phase.

Wild Shot Celestial, Raguel (V Series) may superior call Black Observe, Hamiel from the drop zone. This duo has a nice play. You may place Black Observe, Hamiel from anywhere, and her first ability activates its effect. You gain a rear-guard and perform a damage check with this combo.

Premium Format:

Black Observe, Hamiel is a great addition to Black Gravers in the Premium Format. She is a backup option for your Imaginary Gift: Protect. She also performs a damage check during your turn and provides a rear-guard for additional offense.

The heavy cost of this unit’s second ability is not a concern for Angel Feather in Premium Format. Holy Seraph, Zafkiel is one of the best cards in the game for manipulating the damage zone. Holy Seraph, Zafkiel adds three cards face up to the damage zone and sends three cards from the damage zone tot he drop zone. The idea strategy is sending your face down cards to the drop zone and keeping all of your face up cards.
