Apex Ruler, Bastion is Tohya Ebata’s signature card in Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress. Apex Ruler, Bastion appears in the first episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress. Tohya Ebata plays this card during a game against Danji Momoyama.

D-Standard Format:

Apex Ruler, Bastion is a grade 3 unit from the Keter Sanctuary. His strategy is creating a strong offense with grade 3 units. He is able to stand units and give power to his comrades.

First Ability:

Apex Ruler, Bastion rallies his fellow grade 3 units on the field! He adds 2,000 power to all of your grade 3 units. This amount of power does not appear to be an impressive increase in power. However, this ability has potential with the Persona ride.

Apex Ruler, Bastion can activate a Persona Ride. You will gain a lot of offense. The combination of the first ability and a Persona Ride adds 12,000 power to reach grade 3 unit. Therefore, your grade 3 units will have 25,000 power before a boost. Your units will be able pressure the opponent with powerful attacks.

Second Ability:

Apex Ruler, Bastion stands a rear-guard after your drive check reveals a grade 3 at the end of the battle! You have more opportunities on offense! You put a lot of pressure on an opponent if this ability and an over trigger! A rear-guard with an over trigger and second attack has the potential to win the game.

Furthermore, this ability complements the first ability. Your units with the increase in power can attack more than once in a single turn. This ability swings momentum in your favor. The rear-guard will have another opportunity to deliver damage.

In addition, you will need to play generic units with strong abilities with Apex Ruler, Bastion. Royal Paladins have many generic units with great abilities. Blaster Blade and Divine Knight of Two Absolutes, Saint Twin Sword are fantastic cards to pair with Apex Ruler, Bastion. You can consistently activate their abilities because they do not rely on a particular archetype.

I recommend playing Blaster Blade alongside Apex Ruler, Bastion in the premium format. Blaster Blade retires the opponent’s best rear-guard. You can remove opponent’s powerful rear-guard from the field.
