Unit of The Week: Ammunition Angel

Aim well, and boom!

[AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (VC) or on (RC) with a Protect marker, choose one of your opponent’s rear-guards, and you may put it into their damage zone face up. If you put a card into their damage zone, your opponent chooses a card from their damage zone, and heals it.
[CONT](RC):If there is a Protect marker on this unit’s circle, this unit gets [Power]+10000.

Bushiroad created units for particular Imaginary Gifts. Bushiroad developed Ammunition Angel for the Imaginary Gift: Protect II. Ammunition Angel is a grade 2 unit for Angel Feather. This grade 2 unit has two abilities. This card has control of the field and a strong offense.

First Ability:

Ammunition Angel selects one of the opponent’s rear-guards and places it into the opponent’s damage zone. Then, this grade 2 unit allows the opponent to select any card from his or her damage zone and send it to the drop zone. This ability serves two purposes. First, it removes an opponent’s rear-guard from the field. Second, the ability potentially has a new face up card in the opponent’s damage zone for  Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series). You achieve two goals with a single ability.

This ability is a unique method to remove an opponent’s rear-guard from the filed. The opposing rear-guard may be a troublesome unit. You can remove it from the field. The opponent loses the abilities and offense from his or her rear-guard after you send it to the damage zone.

However, this ability has a major flaw. It provides a face up card for the opponent’s damage zone. The opponent chooses any card from the damage zone to place in his or her drop zone. The most logical choice is a face down card. This ability provides a method for the opponent to counter charge and have a resource for the cost of the abilities of the opponent’s units.

Second Ability:

Ammunition Angel gains 10,000 power when she is on a circle with an Imaginary Gift: Protect II. This ability provides offensive firepower for your field. She becomes an effective rear-guard in battle and she can hit an opposing vanguard without a boost. A boost would put additional pressure on the opponent.

Therefore, you can create a strong column with Ammunition Angel. The total power of Ammunition Angel with this ability and the Imaginary Gift: Protect II is 24,000. This unit can reach high numbers with a boost from a rear-guard.

Support:

Ammunition Angel is a good rear-guard in Angel Feather’s decks with Imaginary Gift: Protect II. She is a good fit in decks with Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series) and Circular Saw, Kiriel (V Series). She has synergy with these vanguards. Both of these vanguards may use Imaginary Gift: Protect II for their strategies.

Ammunition Angel is a perfect fit in a deck with Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series) Ammunition Angel forces an opponent to have a face up card in his or her damage zone when her first ability sends an opposing rear-guard to the damage zone. Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series) gains 5,000 power for each face up card in the opponent’s damage zone.

Premium Format:

Ammunition Angel provides a strong offense in a deck with the Imaginary Gift: Protect II in the Premium Format. These decks bring the full potential of this card. She needs units such as Circular Saw, Kiriel (V Series) and Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series) for success.

Holy Seraph, Zafkiel is a stellar G-Unit and is a great fit in any deck with Angel Feather. This G-Unit is a great fit with Ammunition Angel in the Premium Format. Holy Seraph, Zafkiel may increase the power of Ammunition Angel by 10,000 to 30,000. Ammunition Angel has the potential to have a total power of 54,000 with her abilities, an Imaginary Gift: Protect II, and the ability of Holy Seraph, Zafkiel.

However, Ammunition Angel still has the same weakness in the Premium Format. Her first ability may provide a face up card for the opponent’s damage zone. An opponent may see this as a gift because they have another resource for the cost of their best abilities.

Card Rating:

Overall, Ammunition Angel is an mediocre card due to the awkwardness of her first ability. This card removes an opponent’s rear-guard from the field, but this card also helps the opponent gain a face up card in the damage zone. The best feature from this unit is her second ability. This grade 2 unit has an impressive offense. Therefore, I only recommend Ammunition Angel in decks with Cosmo Healer, Ergodiel (V Series).
