Comic: Heroineburgh Comics #3
- Publisher: Heroineburgh
- Artist: Benjamin Zeus Barnett & Wayne Brown
- Release Date: September 16th, 2022
- Cover Price: $9.99
The Plot: 4.5 out of 5.0 stars
Heroineburgh Comics #3 has the same style as the previous comics. The comic features four stories. The stories in this issue are tightly connected to each other. The Black Faction puts their plan to discredit the Pittsburgh Heroine League into action.
This style of storytelling allows readers to connect with multiple characters in a single issue. Fans of particular characters may enjoy short stories of their favorite characters in action. It features a variety of members of the Pittsburgh Heroine League, and dangerous villains such as Chlorina.
Furthermore, all of the plots within this comic have connections. The transitions from each plot has a seamless flow. The conflicts between the Pittsburgh Heroine League and the Black Faction collide towards the big picture.
The first story resumes the conclusion from Heroineburgh Comics #2. The conflict throws Savanna and Panthyra in a unique situation. The villainous Chlorina captures both of them with ill intentions. Savanna only escapes due to Panthyra’s pure rage at Chlorina and the arrival of her allies, Fianna and Frija.
Indarra is the most interesting member of the Heroine League in this issue. She has hidden lairs of her true motives under her costume. She steals money from Frija when Cybrina is busy on the phone with Angela. Indarrra is hiding information about herself and her intentions with the Heroine League.
The epic conclusion with X-Machina’s corruption into Ultra Machina is the most exciting ending from the three comics. The Black Faction is now in a great position to discredit the Pittsburgh Heroine League. Ultra Machine has all of X-Machina’s abilities and they can potentially use her intel against her comrades. The tide is turning the Black Faction’s evil favor.
Battles: 4.5 out of 5.0 stars
The battles in each story have fun action. The superheroines from the Pittsburgh Heroine League attempt to apprehend the villains in their good city. Most fights have plenty of action and potential consequences if the heroines fail their missions.
Furthermore, each superheroine and villainess stand out with their unique powers. Everyone has a chance to shine. It sets the bar in terms of power and advantages in battle.
The best battle in the comic is the fight against Chlorina. The powers of Chlorina present a constant threat to the heroines and Panthyra. It creates multiple conflicts with Panthyra battling Chlorina and the Pittsburgh Heroine League. Pittsburgh Heroine League defeats Chlorina due to Fianna’s powerful Banshee Cry, but Panthyra escapes with plans to confront Savanna again.
The brief fight between Fenneca against Cybrina and Indarra is a tad too short. It has intense and fast action with Indarra and Cybrina unleashing their powers. Fenneca is fast and easily avoids most of their attacks. However, it only takes one punch from Indarra for Fenneca to escape before her arrest at the hands of the two superheroines. The fight needed one or two more pages to showcase more of their powers in combat.
Character Design: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
All of the characters have unique designs of their personalities, powers, and appearances in the series. They stand out from each other with unique powers and looks. Their costumes have fine details to add personality to their looks. All of the heroines have a look of pride and respect. The villains have wicked and dominant appearances.
Chlorina has the most interesting powers among the villains in this issue. Her name is a reference to chloroform and it is a common trope from the original Wonder Woman TV series when villains knocked out Wonder Woman with chloroform. She projects chloroform from her hands at any unsuspecting victim. This power truly makes her very dangerous to any member of the Pittsburgh Heroine League.
I also like the design of the beautiful Fenneca. She is the trope of the cat burglar in comics. Fenneca’s design is based on a fox. Her character screams femininity and sex appeal with her look. Her costume has a sexy design. She offers more to the table than just her beauty. Her strength and speed make her to be a major threat.
The Art: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
Heroineburgh has established a consistent style of its artwork. It pays to have the same team on every issue. Jason Wright did a fine job with the comic’s cover art. Benjamin Zeus Barnett and Wayne Brown are artists for the book. Benjamin Zeus Barnett has worked on every issue to date.
The cover art by Jason Wright is a stellar image of villains. It is a contrast of the cover art with superheroines from Heroineburgh Comics #1. It symbolizes their evil intentions for the city.
The artwork truly captures the fine details in each page and emotions of the characters. The images have fine details of the characters’ designs and the settings. The art brings the superheroines and villains to life with their expressions and powers on each page.
For example, they nail the enthusiasm on the facial expressions of Detective Mark Drake. This corrupt detective looks very excited to tarnish the reputation of the Pittsburgh Heroine League. His expression on his first page of this comic shows his evil enthusiasm.
Final Rating:
Overall, Heroineburgh Issue #3 exceeds all expectations in this issue. It is full of exciting action with heroines in battle and each tale progress the story. The introduction of Fenneca, Indarra’s shady intentions, and the birth of Ultra Machina are the highlights of this comic. The conclusion leads to a lot of anticipation for the fourth issue.
Therefore, I recommend purchasing Heroineburgh Issue #3 for $9.99 at the official website of Heroineburgh. International orders cost $19.99. You do not want to miss the action!
