D-Standard Format:

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) is a grade two unit with the Aichi Icon. This card exclusively supports Royal Paladins with the Aichi Icon. He only fits in decks with this archetype. His first ability requires your vanguard to have the Aichi Icon.

Furthermore, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) is a normal unit for the main deck. He provides defense, offense, and resources as a rear-guard. His offensive ability activates when he is a rear-guard and his second ability activates when you place him in the guardian zone.

First Ability:

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) gains 10,000 power and allows you to draw a card when you place him on the field with the ability of King of Knights, Alfred with an Aichi Icon. You have multiple ways to activate this ability. You may call this card from the hand to only gain power or superior call this card from the deck with King of Knights, Alfred to gain both effects.

Therefore, you can create a strong column with Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series). This unit needs a strong grade one unit in the back of the same column. Cerrgaon is a strong grade one for Royal Paladin. A boost of 13,000 power from Cerrgaon and an additional 10,000 power from Gordon’s ability increase the total power of Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) to 33,000.

Furthermore, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) helps provide a resource. The additional draw for the turn is an advantage. You are building your hand for defense or offense. You quickly draw key cards from the deck.

However, you will spend two counter blasts in total from Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) and King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). Both of their abilities require one counter blast. Two counter blasts are a heavy cost in the long term. Realistically you will only activate this ability once in a game until the archetype receives a proper unit to counter charge.

Second Ability:

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) gains 5,000 shield in the guardian circle when you have a vanguard with the Aichi Icon. Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) has a total shield of 10,000, and his shield is stronger than the typical grade two rear-guard with 5,000 shield. This defensive skill conserves cards in your hand. You may not need additional cards to block an opponent’s unit.

Therefore, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) is a strong defensive options for Royal Paladin in the D-Standard Format. You should consider using him for defense when he is on the field. His first ability only activates during the turn when you place him. His value on the field now becomes his defensive ability after your turn.

This ability is a homage to the original Knight of Truth, Gordon. This original version also gains 5,000 shield but it only activates when it intercepts an attack. On the other hand, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) gains 5,000 shield when placed in the guardian circle from any location.

Support:

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) requires a deck with King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). This card has synergy with many units in this archetype. Many rear-guards support him in battle.

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) has strong synergy with King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). Their abilities create a strong offense. King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon) may superior call Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) from the deck. This strategy enhances the offense for both units. Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) gains 10,000 power from his ability and an additional 5,000 power from King of Knights, Alfred’s ability. In addition, King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon) gains 2,000 power for each of your rear-guards.

Furthermore, Little Sage, Marron (Fighter Icon) is an effective rear-guard in the same column with Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series). These units create a strong column when you superior call both of them with the ability of King of Knights, Alfred (Fighter Icon). Little Sage, Marron (Fighter Icon) provides 13,000 power when he boosts a unit. A boost from Little Sage, Marron (Fighter Icon) and Gordon’s first ability increase the total power of Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) to 33,000 power.

Premium Format:

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) requires a deck of Royal Paladins with the Aichi Icon. This normal unit can only use his first ability when your vanguard has the Aichi Icon, and those vanguards are grade three units. G-Units have more value in most situations than a grade three unit. You will not be activating this normal unit’s first ability often in the premium format.

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) consistently provides his second ability in the Premium Format. This ability requires your vanguard to have the Aichi Icon. Your vanguard with the Aichi Icon will be on the field during the opponent’s turn. This unit provides a shield of 10,000 power. However, this ability does not justify the card in a competitive deck on its own. Royal Paladin has better defensive options such as its G-Guardians.

Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) only has a small amount of synergy with G-Units from Royal Paladin. This unit cannot activate its first ability with your G-Unit on the field. G-Units can superior call this unit and increase its power.

For instance, Divine Knight of Twin Absolutes, Saint of Twin Sword is one of the best G-Units for Royal Paladin. Divine Knight of Twin Absolutes, Saint of Twin Sword may superior call Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) from the deck. This G-Unit also adds 5,000 power for each face up card in your G-Zone to this rear-guard. For example, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) gains 15,000 power with three face up cards in your G-Zone from this G-Unit’s ability, and his total power is 25,000 before a boost!

Card Rating:

Overall, Knight of Truth, Gordon (D Series) is a strong option for Royal Paladins with the Aichi Icon. The offensive and defensive utility of this card can have a significant impact on games. He is a strong offensive card for Royal Paladin in the D-Standard Format. His defense can save you in a difficult situation against an opponent’s powerful unit.
