Unit of The Week: Aerial Sage

It’s tailwind. Do you feel lighter?

[CONT](RC):During the battle this unit boosted, if you have a grade 3 or greater vanguard with “Rezael” in its card name, this unit gets [Power]+5000.
[AUTO](RC):When this unit boosts a grade 3 or greater vanguard with “Rezael” in its card name, COST [discard a card from hand], Counter Charge (1), and this unit gets [Power]+2000 until end of that battle.

Every deck requires efficient support from grade one units. Aerial Sage is a grade one unit, and he provides consistent support to Rezael. This card has two abilities for offense. He gains power and counter charges a card in your damage zone. This unit ensures the deck’s ability to pay the cost for key abilities.

D-Standard Format:

Aerial Sage is support for Rezael. He has standard stats for a grade one unit. He has 8,000 power and 5,000 shield.

Furthermore, Aerial Sage’s abilities only activate their effects when Aerial Sage is a rear-guard. This card belongs in the main deck. I do not recommend it for the ride deck due to his inability to activate abilities as the vanguard.

First Ability:

Aerial Sage gains 5,000 power when it boosts a unit in battle and you have a grade three or greater vanguard with Rezael in its name. This unit becomes a respectable rear-guard in the back row. This rear-guard provides a boost of 13,000 power to a unit in the front row of same column.

Therefore, you can create a strong column with Aerial Sage in the back row. He is a good booster for your rear-guards in the front row or your vanguard. Your units will have a high amount of power with this boost.

For example, Aerial Sage and Knight of Gentle Beauty, Nobia have offensive synergy. They are a powerful column and can pressure the opponent. Knight of Gentle Beauty, Nobia gains 10,000 power from her second effect. A boost from Aerial Sage increases Knight of Gentle Beauty, Nobia’s power to 33,000.

Second Ability:

Aerial Sage gains 2,000 power and counter charges one card when he boosts a vanguard with Rezael in its name. This ability provides two advantages. It adds additional power to the boost for the vanguard. in addition, you may counter charge one point of damage, and you are regaining a counter blast.

Therefore, Aerial Sage is a stellar rear-guard behind Fated One of Miracles, Rezael. He provides a strong boost of 15,000 power to Fated One of Miracles, Rezael. You have a vanguard with an impressive offense, and the vanguard is pressuring the opponent. Fated One of Miracles, Rezael has a total power of 28,000 with the boost, and Fated One of Miracles, Rezael has a total power of 38,000 with the boost if you persona ride a copy of the vanguard during the turn.

In addition, the counter charge allows you to consistently activate the first ability of Fated One of Miracles, Rezael. This tactic is an effective strategy. Fated One of Miracles, Rezael uses one counter blast to superior call to rear-guards from the drop zone on each turn. Then, you may counter charge to recover the counter blast with Aerial Sage.

However, the downside of Aerial Sage’s second ability is discarding a card for the cost. It is a heavy cost for a single counter card. You are losing a card in the hand for defense or offense.

Support:

Aerial Sage has consistent support from Rezael. The deck can consistently superior call this unit from the drop. He provides a strong boost to any of your units in the front row.

Furthermore, Aerial Sage and Fated One of Miracles, Rezael are a dynamic duo. They share chemistry on the field with an impressive offense. Fated One of Miracles, Rezael also can superior call Aerial Sage from the drop zone. You can recover this grade one unit if the opponent retires him.

Premium Format:

Aerial Sage is a legal card for clans from the United Sanctuary in the Premium Format. He only fits in decks with Rezael because his abilities require Rezael as the vanguard. A combination of units from the United Sanctuary and the Keter Sanctuary may work with this unit.

Furthermore, only generic G-Units work with Aerial Sage. These generic G-Units gain the name of Rezael when Rezael is your heart. You can create some combos with this card.

For example, Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon has great synergy with Aerial Sage in the Premium Format. Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon is a G-Unit from Royal Paladin, and it gains the Divine Skill skill of Fated One of Miracles, Rezael. Aerial Sage fully uses both its abilities when it is in the same column with this G-Unit. A boost from Aerial Sage increases the total power of Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon to 43,000 power.

Furthermore, Dark Dragon, Chainrancor Dragon is Shadow Paladin’s version of Holy Dragon, Crystaluster Dragon. Dark Dragon, Chainrancor Dragon forces the opponent to guard with three or more cards when your field has three or more grade one units. Aerial Sage on the filed counts towards the total of grade one units. This grade one unit helps set up this G-Unit’s ability and provides a strong boost.

Card Rating:

Overall, Aerial Sage is a good card for decks with Rezael. This card elevates the offense of the deck. He consistently provides a strong boost to your rear-guard or vanguard. The counter charge is a great addition, but the cost is a drawback. Therefore, I recommend playing four copies of Aerial Sage in your deck with Rezael.
