[Spell Card]
When this card is activated: If all monsters you control are “Valkyrie” monsters (min. 1), you can add 1 “Goddess Verdande’s Guidance” from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can look at the top 3 cards of your opponent’s Deck, and if you do, place them on top of their Deck in any order, but you cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Fairy monsters. You can only activate 1 “Goddess Skuld’s Oracle” per turn.
Valkyrie has many continuous spell cards in its strategy. One of those continuous spell cards is Goddess Skuld’s Oracle. This card has two effects, and it provides support for Valkyrie. It increases the consistency of the deck’s strategy with continuous spell cards of the goddesses.
Sets:
- Shadows in Valhalla
First Effect:
Goddess Skuld’s Oracle adds Goddess Verdande’s Guidance from the deck to your hand if you only control monsters with Valkyrie in their names. This effect provides a key card for your strategy without a cost. You only need at least one Valkyrie and no other monsters with a different name on the field.
Therefore, Goddess Skuld’s Oracle sets up Valkyrie’s strategy with their Goddesses. The activation of Goddess Verdande’s Guidance adds Goddess Urd’s Verdict to your hand. You will have all three cards in a single turn with these combination of cards.
In addition, Goddess Skuld’s Oracle needs a pure deck of Valkyries due to the conditions of this effect. You may only activate this effect if you only control monsters with Valkyrie in their names. A pure deck consistently fulfills this condition. You can consistently activate this effect and start your combos.
Second Effect:
Goddess Skuld’s Oracle looks at the opponent’s top three cards of his or her deck, and it arranges the cards in any order. This effect provides a lot of knowledge of the opponent’s strategy. You can manipulate his or her deck to your advantage.
In addition, the purpose of this effect is setting up your other cards. Goddess Verdande’s Guidance and Goddess Urd’s Verdict affect the top card of the opponent’s deck. You must choose the correct card for the best benefits from their effects.
For example, this effect of Goddess Skuld’s Oracle provides consistency for Goddess Urd’s Verdict. Goddess Urd’s Verdict banishes an opponent’s card when you look at the top three cards of the deck and you declare the name of the deck’s top card. It is an effective strategy to remove the opponent’s best cards from the game.
Support:
Goddess Skuld’s Oracle provides support for Valkyrie’s strategy. It is an essential piece to play the Goddesses of the archetype. Currently only a few cards in the archetype can search for this card in the graveyard.
Valkyrie Zweite may add Goddess Skuld’s Oracle from the graveyard to your hand. The opponent is likely to destroy this continuous spell card because it is a key part of the deck’s strategy. Valkyrie Zweite returns this card to your hand, and you have another opportunity to play it.
