Dumphood Dragon is a budget card from Cardfight!! Vanguard. This grade 2 unit supports Blasters and it is a searcher for Blaster Dark. This unit has 5,000 power and two abilities. It is a legal card in the v-premium and premium formats.
V-Premium Format:
Dumphood Dragon fits in the V-Premium Format as a rear-guard. Both of its abilities only activate when it is a rear-guard. This card is a fit in decks wit Blaster Dark (V Series).
Dumphood Dragon is a horrible card to ride as a vanguard. This unit only has 5,000 power when he is the vanguard. It only gains 5,000 power with a Blaster on the field if he is a rear-guard. A vanguard with 5,000 power is not a good unit as your vanguard. You do not want to ride this unit as your second vanguard.
First Ability:
Dumphood Dragon gains 5,000 power when your vanguard has Blaster in its name, and this ability only activates itself when this unit is a rear-guard. Dumphood Dragon’s total power increase from 5,000 power to 10,000 power. It becomes a more respectable rear-guard, and it will need a boost from a unit in the back row to hit an opposing vanguard.
This ability has a simple and consistent requirement. Shadow Paladins have many Blasters in the V-Premium Format. You have man options for the vanguard.
For example, Blaster Dark (V Series), Blaster Rapier (V Series), and Phantom Blaster Dark (V Series) meet the requirement for this ability. Dumphood Dragon gains 5,000 power with one of those units or another unit with Blaster in its name as your vanguard. The increase in power strengthens your offense.
Second Ability:
You may retire Dumphood Dragon to search your deck for Blaster Dark (V Series) and add Blaster Dark (V Series) to your hand. The ability provides a quick method to add Blaster Dark (V Series) to your hand. You have one of the key cards to the deck.
Furthermore, many decks with Blaster Dark (V Series) may benefit from this ability. Blasters and Revengers have a strategy with this card. This ability provides consistency for those decks.
For example, Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom (V Series) places an Imaginary Gift: Force when you place your Blaster Dark on a rear-guard circle, and this grade 3 also stands all of your Blaster Darks for second attacks. Dumphood Dragon provides access to Blaster Dark (V Series). You can place the grade 2 unit from hand for the abilities of Illusionary Revenger, Mordred Phantom (V Series).
Support:
Dumphood Dragon has a good amount of support in the V-Premium Format. You may play this unit in decks with Blasters and Revengers. The format has many Blasters such as Blaster Dark (V Series) and Blaster Rapier (V Series). You can consistently activate both abilities of this grade 2 unit.
For example, Blasters have many grade 3 vanguards such as Phantom Blaster Dragon (V Series). Dumphood Dragon gains 5,000 power when Phantom Blaster Dragon (V Series) is the vanguard. You have a rear-guard with 10,000 power and it only needs a boost to hit an opposing vanguard.

Premium Format:
The premium format with a large library of Blasters has plenty of support for Dumphood Dragon. You can easily insert this card with any deck with Blaster Dark. You may consistently activate this unit’s abilities in this format.
Dumphood Dragon has three versions of Blaster Dark to add to your hand with his ability. The options allow variety in decks. The best option for the Premium Format is Blaster Dark (D Series). Blaster Dark (D Series) has two drive as the vanguard and gains 5,000 power when you retire one of your rear-guards.
However, Dumphood Dragon has a low amount of power for the premium format. It is a terrible option for a vanguard. It does not pressure the opponent in battle. The card’s main purpose is adding a version of Blaster Dark to your hand. It is a good reason to solely place this grade 2 unit into a deck.

Card Rating:
Overall, Dumphood Dragon is a mediocre card and serves as filler for a booster set. Shadow Paladins have better support for Blasters and Blaster Dark in all formats. This card’s low amount of power puts it at a disadvantage. A player would only play this card if he or she is on a budget. Therefore, I recommend passing on Dumphood Dragon and seek better options for your deck.
