[Fiend/Effect]
ATK/300 DEF/200
During the Main or Battle Phase, if you took damage by battle or an opponent’s card effect this turn (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; Special Summon 1 “Dark Magician” or 1 “Dark Magician Girl” from your Deck or GY. If a face-up Spellcaster monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent’s card effect: You can add this card from the GY to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Magikuriboh” once per turn.
Magikuriboh is a unique version of Kuriboh. This version of Kuriboh supports the Dark Magician. This fiend has two useful effects. This effect monster special summons the Dark Magician and your deck’s featured monster will be on the field.
Furthermore, the inspiration of Magikuriboh from Konami is likely homage to Yugi. Kuriboh and the Dark Magician are two of Yugi’s monsters. It is the perfect idea to turn the fiend into support for the Dark Magician.
First Effect:
You may send Magikuriboh to the graveyard to special summon Dark Magician from your deck or graveyard when the opponent inflicts damage to you by battle or a card’s effect. This effect only activates during the main phase or battle phase. The effect provides a useful method to special summon Dark Magician. It provides instant access to the deck’s main monster.
Furthermore, this effect enables you to regain Dark Magician from the graveyard when the opponent destroys Dark Magician in battle. You may quickly respond with Magikuriboh. This strategy ensures your field to have a monster on the field. You have the most important monster for the deck’s strategy.
In addition, Magikuriboh may activate its first effect during either player’s turn. For example, an opponent may inflict damage to you with an effect during your turn. Then, Magikuriboh may special summon Dark Magician from the deck.
Second Effect:
The second effect of Magikuriboh adds Magikuriboh to your hand when the opponent destroys your spellcaster by battle or a card’s effect. You regain access to this monster. This second effect presents the opportunity to reactivate the first effect.
Therefore, this effect puts you in a position to use the first effect of Magikuriboh again. Your hand will have this fiend. Then, you will only need to discard when you meet the conditions for the first effect and special summon Dark Magician.
Support:
Magikuriboh has good support from the archetype of the Dark Magician. Many cards may search for this effect monster. You can easily add it to your hand or place it on top of the deck.
Illusion of Chaos may add Magikuriboh from the deck to your hand. This strategy provides a backup for your strategy. An opponent may destroy Illusion of Chaos in battle or with a card’s effect. Then, you may discard Magikuriboh and special summon a Dark Magician from the deck or graveyard. Your field loses one spellcaster and gains a new spellcaster.
Soul Servant may place Magikuriboh from your hand, deck, or graveyard on top of your deck. It is a unique method for you to draw on this effect monster. The best options are placing this effect monster from the deck or graveyard on top of the deck.

Card Rating:
Overall, Magikuriboh is a nice hand trap for the Dark Magician. This effect monster helps the deck to play its signature card. You want the Dark Magician on the field for combos such as fusion summons. You gain some consistency from this card. Therefore, I recommend playing at least one copy of Magikuriboh in your deck if you area able to create space for this effect monster.
