Magician of Black Chaos MAX is an update for the original Magician of Black Chaos. The predecessor lacks effects to gain an advantage. Magician of Black Chaos MAX has useful effects for Dark Magician and spellcasters in general. Chaos Form is the spell card for the ritual summon of Magician of Black Chaos MAX.
First Effect: Ritual Summon
Chaos Form is the spell card for the ritual summon of Magician of Black Chaos MAX. You must tribute any number of monsters to equal level eight. The best option is a tribute of two level four monsters from your hand or field.
Furthermore, you may banish a Dark Magician from the graveyard in addition to a tribute of a level one monster from the hand or field to ritual summon Magician of Black Chaos MAX. This effect of Chaos Form allows you to reuse resources from the duel. Dark Magician has value in the graveyard, and he can be used as part of the ritual summon.
Second Effect:
Magician of Black Chaos MAX prevents the opponent from activating effects for the rest of the turn if you tribute one monster. This effect allows Magician of Black Chaos MAX to strike an attack at the opponent. It prevents the opponent from gaining any advantage or countering your strategy.
Furthermore, this effect complements the third effect. Magician of Black Chaos MAX needs to destroy an opponent’s monster to activate the third effect. You can prevent an opponent from activating effects with abilities to counter your attack.
The price of this effect has a deep cost. You would lose a monster on every turn if you activate this effect on every turn. You may not be able to consistently activate it if you do not have an additional monster.
Third Effect:
You may add a Spell card from your graveyard after Magician of Black Chaos MAX destroys an opponent’s monster in battle. This effect has synergy with every Spell in the game. You regain access to one of your best cards. You may potential replay cards such as Monster Reborn.
For example, Chaos Form and Magician of Black Chaos MAX have great synergy. You may activate Chaos Form to summon Magician of Black Chaos MAX. You may regain access to the Ritual card. Magician of Black Chaos MAX will add Chaos Form from the graveyard to your hand. Therefore, you may replay the Spell for another Ritual Summon.
