[AUTO](VC):[Soul Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (VC) from hand, or at the beginning of your ride phase, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose any circle other than (VC), and put all of the cards on that circle into the drop zone.
[AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] When your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your opponent’s rear-guards, retire it, look at seven cards from the top of your deck, reveal up to one card with “Overlord” in its card name from among them, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck.

Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny” is the final version of Dragonic Overlord in the original Cardfight!! Vanguard animation. The final version of Dragonic Overlord is destined to be the best version of Overlord. He made his debut in Purging Overlord. Toshiki Kai rode his signature card to win a major game against Darkface. I pulled a copy of the SP version of Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny” from Ultimate Stride. I need three more copies for a complete set.

The Destiny’s first skill puts a card on a rear-guard’s circle to the drop zone. The skill’s language allows the skill to bypass resist and lock. You are not retiring units. You are sending a card to the drop zone. Furthermore, another option is to send one of your locked cards to the drop zone, and open a circle to add offense to your formation. Opponents are not able to protect any cards on the field. No card is safe from Dragonic Overlord The Destiny’s flames.

  • Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord “The Purge”
  • Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Defeat Flare Dragon

Second skill retires one of your opponent’s rear-guards and you may search seven cards from the top of your deck for one card with Overlord in its name. Unfortunately, the skill cannot retire locked units and units with resist. This skill has two purposes. You may use this ability to save an Overlord to discard for your next Stride or you may use your new Overlord to pay for Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord The Purge’s skill to automatically damage your opponent. Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord The Purge’s skill cannot be used if your opponent has five damage. Save your new Overlord to discard to pay for your next G-Unit.

Finally, Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny” has a strong bench of rear-guards to support him. The Overlord’s rear-guards generate a lot of offense from your opponent’s damage zone. Glow Heater Dragon is one of the new cards with 10,000 power and skills. He is able to maintain his power when you reveal an Overlord from your hand, and he gains 2,000 power for each card in your opponent’s damage zone. Glow Heater Dragon can easily pass 20,000 power with a boost. Burning Horn Evolute’s skill reveals an Overlord from your hand, and retires an opponent’s rear-guard in the same column. You can retire an entire column with Dragonic Overlord The Destiny’s first skill followed by Burning Horn Evolute. Burning Horn Evolute also gains 2,000 power for each card in your opponent’s damage zone.

Overall, Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny” is the best version of Dragonic Overlord in the Premium format. A full set of Dragonic Overlord “The Destiny” and Dragonic Overlord “The Legend” is the strongest lineup of grade 3s for Overlord. His has the ability to overcome Link Joker’s ability of locking cards. Units with resist tremble in fear because they cannot withstand Dragonic Overlord The Destiny’s first skill. He can consistently retire units every turn with his second skill. Then, you may follow up Dragonic Overlord The Destiny’s amazing skills with a game winning attack from Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord “The Purge”.
