Unit of The Week: Beriberi Beat Angel

[AUTO]:When this unit is rode upon, COST [Counter Blast (1)], put the top card of your deck into your damage zone, choose a card from your damage zone, and call it to (RC).
[CONT](RC):If there is a Protect marker on this unit’s circle, this unit gets “Intercept” and “[AUTO]:When this unit intercepts, this unit gets [Shield]+5000 until end of that battle.”, and can intercept from the back row.

Beriberi Beat Angel is a grade one and member of Angel Feather. Imaginary Gift: Protect II brings out the full potential of Beriberi Beat Angel. This card is a defensive rear-guard. She provides a strong defense against every opponent.

First Effect:

Beriberi Beat Angel allows you to superior call a card from the damage zone when you ride a new vanguard on top of her. You must perform a damage check with the top card of your deck. The ability is a basic exchange of a card from the damage zone with the top card of your deck.

The best advantage from this ability is getting a rear-guard without a cost. Your field has a second unit for an attacker or a booster. It depends on the power and abilities of the rear-guard for the best option.

Furthermore, this ability does not have an actual cost. You counterblast a card, but you will superior call it t to the field. Your top card of the deck is now face up in the damage zone.

Second Effect:

Angel Feather utilizes Imaginary Gift: Protect II for defense more than any other clan with the Imaginary Gift. Beriberi Beat Angel gains 5,000 shield on a Imaginary Gift: Protect II marker. She is a backup for defense when you need an additional guardian to block attack.

A shield of 25,000 from a rear-guard is strong defense. Beriberi Beat Angel is a good option when you do not have a perfect guard in your hand. You will be able to build a strong wall of defense with Beriberi Beat Angel and other units against an opponent’s powerful unit.

Furthermore, this unit may intercept an attack from the back row. You do not need to risk her in the front row where an opponent could attack her. Most units cannot battle a unit in the back row.

Premium Format:

Beriberi Beat Angel has her place in the Premium Format. She needs a deck with Imaginary Gift: Protect II for your primary marker. She would be a good fit for decks with Arch-aider, Malkuth-melekh and Circular Saw, Kiriel (V Series),

Surgery Angel is a good target for Beriberi Beat Angel’s first ability. This stand trigger’s GB1 skill is Rescue-1 of a single damage check. It is an effective ability with another opportunity for a trigger.

Holy Seraph, Zafkiel is a good G-Unit for Angel Feather. I recommend playing this G-Unit with Beriberi Beat Angel. Holy Seraph, Zafkiel returns three cards from the drop zone to the damage and adds 10,000 power for each normal unit sent there to your front row! The total power of Beriberi Beat Angel with this ability on a Protect II marker is 43,000! She would be a powerful rear-guard and she puts a lot of pressure on the opponent in the late game.
