You can activate “Metalmorph” Traps the turn they were Set. You can only use each of the following effects of “Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon” once per turn. You can send 1 face-down card you control to the GY; Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned, and you have “Max Metalmorph” in your field or GY: You can add 1 “Metalmorph” Trap from your Deck or GY to your hand.

Red-Eyes and Metalmorph have been a combination since the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh!. One of the supportive cards for these archetypes is Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon. This effect monster has three effects. Its effects mainly support Metalmorph. It also supports the members of Red-Eyes in Metalmorph.

First Effect:

Therefore, Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon manipulates the rules of the game for your advantage. You normally cannot activate traps during the same turn when you set them. However, this effect monster bypasses this rule. You can activate cards such as Metalmorph, Max Metalmorph, and Time Engine.

Furthermore, Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon increases the speed for the archetype of Metalmorph. You do not need to wait to activate the traps. You can quickly special summon monsters from the archetype of Metalmorph. Some of these monsters include monsters with Red-Eyes in their names.

In addition, this effect adds consistency for Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon. Max Metalmorph may tribute Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon or any level 5 or greater dragon on your field. Then, you may special summon Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon from the hand, deck, or graveyard.

Second Effect:

Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon special summons itself from the hand when you send one of your face down cards from the field to the graveyard. This effect is a good method to play this card. You can quickly play this card with its requirement.

Furthermore, the face down card can be any type of card. You can send a monster, spell, or trap to the graveyard. The best options are spells and traps because you can set any number of these types of card on the field during a turn.

Third Effect:

Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon adds Metalmorph from the deck to the hand when you normal or special summon this effect monster and Max Metalmorph is on the field or in the graveyard. This effect adds consistency to the deck with Metalmorph. You instantly have access to the main trap for the strategy.

Furthermore, the third effect of Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon sets up the first effect. You can set Metalmorph after you add it to your hand. Then, you may activate it.

Extra Deck Material:

Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon is an option for material for the special summons of monsters from the extra deck. It meets the conditions for many of these cards from the extra deck. Its name and level are prefect for many special summons.

For instance, Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon is a level seven monster, and it is good material for rank seven monsters. Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon is a great XYZ monster for Red-Eyes. You can easily perfect this special summon. You may use Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon as material for the XYZ summon of Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon.

In addition, you may use Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon as material for the link summon of Darkness Metal, the Dragon of Dark Steel. You need two effect monsters of the same type and attribute for materials. For instance, you may use Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon and Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon as materials for the link summon of Darkness Metal, the Dragon of Dark Steel.

Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon has support from Red-Eyes and Metalmorph. Casual decks combine both archetypes in one deck. You can play this card in decks for only one of the two archetypes. 

You can equip Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon with Red-Eyes Fang with Chain. This trap card allows this effect monster to attack twice per turn. In addition, you can send this trap card to the graveyard and equip an effect monster on your field to Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon. Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon’s ATK and DEF becomes equal to the effect monster’s ATK and DEF.

Many cards from Red-Eyes can special Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon. You have consistent access to this effect monster. You can special summon it with one of these cards and activate its second effect to add one trap with  Metalmorph in its name.

For instance, Paladin of Dark Dragon, Red-Eyes Baby Dragon, Red-Eyes Soul, and The Black Stone of Legend can special summon Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon. All of these effect monsters can special summon this effect monster from the deck. You do not need Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon in your hand. These monsters search your deck for it and plays it.

Overall, Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon provides consistency and strong effects for Metalmorph. Metalmorph is an old archetype and only casual decks play this trap card in modern Yu-Gi-Oh!. Pure decks for Red-Eyes will only play Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon because it is a level seven monster for XYZ summons. In addition, this effect monster is easy to special summon with its effects or the effects of other cards. Therefore, I only recommend playing Red-Eyes Metal Claws Dragon in your deck if rank seven XYZ monsters are part of your strategy.
