Target 1 Machine monster you control; Special Summon 1 “Machina” monster with a different name from your hand or Deck, and if you do, destroy that targeted monster. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 3 of your Machine monsters that are banished and/or in your GY; shuffle them into your Deck, then draw 1 card. You can only use 1 “Machina Overdrive” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Machina from Yu-Gi-Oh is an army of machines, and the deck focuses on its monsters with high levels. Machina Overdrive drives the strategy with its effects. This trap provides key resources. It can special summon a monster from the deck. It also returns monsters from the graveyard to the deck.

First Effect:

Machina Overdrive destroys one of your machine monsters on the field and special summons one monster with Machina in its name from the deck. This trap replaces one monster with a new monster. You easily get access to the strongest monsters of Machina from the main deck.

Machina Metalcruncher is a great option to special summon with Machina Overdrive. Machina Metalcruncher maintains its 2,800 ATK with this trap card. This effect monster also adds a monster with the attribute of earth to the hand. You gain two two cards with this combination of cards.

In addition, you can reduce the cost of Machina Overdrive to zero. The activation of this effect does not require the destruction of a machine monster. You can reduce the cost with Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora. Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora can protect the machine when this trap targets it. You are able to special summon a monster with Machina in its name from the deck for free.

Second Effect:

Machina Overdrive returns up to three monsters with Machina in their names in total from either your graveyard or banishment to the deck. Then, you shuffle the deck and a draw a card. This trap returning key resources to the deck. You also draw a card to strengthen your hand.

Therefore, Machina Overdrive recovers key resources for the deck. You can return the best monsters to the deck. Many cards in the archetype can search for these cards.

In addition, Machina Overdrive activates this effect in the graveyard. Effects in the graveyard have a lot of value. Most cards cannot negate this trap due to its place in the game.

Machina Possesstorage has strong synergy with Machina Overdrive. This trap card special summons from this effect monster from the deck. Then, this effect monster special summons a monster with Machina in its name in the graveyard. 

Machina Redeployment adds Machina Overdrive from the deck to the hand. The cost is discarding one card with Machina in its name. You can regain this card later during the duel. Machina Overdrive returns three monsters with Machina in their names from the graveyard to the deck.

Overall, Machina Overdrive is an effective trap for Machina. This card provides key sources. It can special summon a powerful machine on the field. It also recovers resources when it sends cards to the deck. This trap allows you to draw a card with its second effect. Therefore, I recommend playing two to three copies of Machina Overdrive in your deck.
