Bushiroad has revealed major news for the future of Cardfight!! Vanguard. A new animation with a new cast of characters airs in January 2024. Six new startup trial decks of all six nations from the D-Standard Format will be released in early 2024. Bushiroad has also introduced a new mechanics with the name of Divine Skill and Energy Generators.
New Anime Series: Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ
Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ is the newest animation of Cardfight!! Vanguard. The anime debuts on January 12th, 2024 in Japan, and a date for the English audience has not bee announce at this time. The anime introduces new characters, decks, mechanics, and units.
Furthermore, Bushiroad will air Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ on the official YouTube channel. Players around the world will be able to enjoy the show together. Sub-titles will be available in many languages.
In addition, Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ introduces six new main characters. The main character is Akina Myodo and his avatar is the Fated One of Miracles, Rezael. His encounter with Gabwelius leads him the fated clash! His sister Hikari Myodo joins him in this new anime.
Start Up Trial Decks:
Bushiroad is releasing six Start Up Trial Decks for the D-Standard Format. All six nations will receive a Start Up Trial Deck. These products will feature new units and mechanics.
Furthermore, the Start Up Trial Decks are a good product for new players to learn Cardfight!! Vanguard. These decks will include a grade 3 vanguard with a powerful ability and sentinels. New players have the basic foundation, and they can upgrade the deck with booster packs.

New Mechanic: Energy Generator
The new trial decks introduce a new mechanic, and it is the Energy Generator. This new type of card is a crest, and the ride deck may only have one ride deck crest. It generates energy at the beginning of a player’s ride for a maximum of ten energy. In addition, the energy generator has an act ability with the cost of your energy, and the current energy generator allows you to draw one card at the cost of seven energy.
Rulings:
- The Energy Generator may only have a maximum of ten energy. If your Energy Generator has eight energy at the start of your ride phase, then you may only increase the Energy Generator to a total of ten energy.
- You may gain additional crests.
- Ride Deck Crest cards can only be in the ride deck. Ride Deck Crest cards are not allowed in the main deck.
- The Ride Deck may only have one Ride Deck Crest.
- Ride Deck Crest cards are only legal cards in the D-Standard Format. You cannot play the Energy Generator in the V-Premium and Premium Formats.
- You may only use the official card of an Energy Generator from official products. You may not use dice or counters as replacements.
New Mechanic: Divine Skill
Cardfight!! Vanguard has a new mechanic of the Divine Skill. It is a new skill only for the Fated Ones. Its purpose is a powerful finisher to win the game. The Divine Skill may only be used once per game.
These Divine Skills have not been revealed yet. The abilities of the Fates Ones have been not shown yet. The wait for these abilities builds excitement for these new units and the potential of the Divine Skill.
Rule Change: Deck Size
Bushiroad has made a major change to the deck size in the D-Standard Format of Cardfight!! Vanguard. The cards in the Ride Deck are now separate from the main deck. This new ruling means the Ride Deck has its set of cards, and these cards are the grade 0, 1, 2, and 3 units. The main deck has a total of 50 cards.
Furthermore, this major change in the rules allows more creativity for decks. You have four extra spaces in your deck for the D-Standard Format. You may add more units and order cards to your deck.

These new units, mechanics, and changes in the rules bring a lot of potential to the deck. All of these additions are positive changes to the game.
