You can target 1 “Marincess” card in your GY, except “Marincess Marbled Rock”; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Marincess Marbled Rock” once per turn. When an opponent’s monster declares an attack: You can send 1 “Marincess” monster from your hand to the GY; for that battle, monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, also you take no battle damage.

First Effect:

Marincess Marbled Rock adds one card with Marincess in its name from the graveyard to the hand. This effect may add a monster, spell, or trap from the archetype. You may activate this effect once per turn.

Furthermore, Marincess Marbled Rock sets up strong combos or protection. You are regaining an important card from the graveyard. The archetype has many strong cards and great options.

For instance, Marincess Wave protects your monsters from the opponent’s effects. It is a great card to add to your hand. You may have activated the trap earlier in the duel. Marincess Marbled Rock returns the card to your hand. You have consistent protection of your monsters.

Second Effect:

Marincess Marbled Rock may send a monster with Marincess in its name to the graveyard when the opponent declares an attack with his or her monster. Your monster cannot be destroyed. You also will not take any damage from the battle. This effect protects your monster and life points. It is good defensive skill when the opponent has a strong monster on the field.

Furthermore, the first effect may provide the resource for the second’s effects cost. Marincess Marbled Rock may add a monster with Marincess in its name to your hand. Then, you may discard the same monster during the opponent’s turn to prevent the destruction of one of your monsters and to protect your life points.

In addition, Marincess Pascalus and Marincess Sea Horse is good cards to discard for this effect. You can activate their abilities in the graveyard during your next turn. Marincess Pascalus banishes herself from the graveyard to add a spell or trap card from the graveyard to your hand. Marincess Sea Horse may banish herself from the graveyard to special summon one water monster from your graveyard.

Link Summon:

Marincess Marbled Rock is a Link-3 monster. She requires two more water monsters. Marincess can easily fulfill this requirement. The archetype has Link-2 monsters such as Marincess Coral Anemone and effect monsters with the effect to special summon themselves such as Marincess Sea Horse.

For instance, you can easily link summon Marincess Marbled Rock in a single turn. This strategy only requires one card to start the chain of effects. You will have this card on the field with these steps.

  1. Normal summon Marincess Sea Horse from the hand.
  2. Link summon Marincess Blue Slug with Marincess Sea Horse as material.
  3. Use the effect of Marincess Blue Slug to add Marincess Sea Horse from the graveyard to the hand.
  4. Special summon Marincess Sea Horse to the field with her effect.
  5. Link summon Marincess Coral Anemone with Marincess Blue Slug and Marincess Sea Horse as materials.
  6. Activate the effect of Marincess Coral Anemone to special summon Marincess Sea Horse from the graveyard.
  7. Link Summon Marincess Marbled Rock with Marincess Coral Anemone and Marincess Sea Horse as materials.

Marincess Marbled Rock has good support from Marincess. The link monster has synergy with many cards in the archetype. You can easily summon this link monster from the extra deck. Cards in the archetype provide protection to this card.

Marincess Wave is a stellar trap card for Marincess Marbled Rock. Marincess Wave provides protection for this link monster and your other monsters with Marincess in their names. This trap prevents the opponent’s  effects from affecting your monsters. You can also play this card from your hand with Marincess Marble Rock on the field.

In addition, Marincess Battle Ocean elevates the offense of Marincess Marbled Rock. This field spell adds 200 ATK to this link monster, and it adds an additional 600 ATK for each equipped card with Marincess in its name to this monster. Marincess Marble Rock will have a total of 4500 ATK with three equipped cards with Marincess in their names and the additonal 200 ATK from the first effect of Marincess Battle Ocean.

Card Rating:

Overall, Marincess Marbled Rock is one of Marincess’s strongest link monsters in terms of attack. This link monster is a good option for an aggressive strategy. You can easily summon this monster to the field. This card becomes an offensive powerhouse with the effects of Marincess Battle Ocean. Therefore, I recommend playing one or two copies of Marincess Marbled Rock in your extra deck.
