The Star-Vaders will always be the most annoying archetype in Link Joker. Their defensive strategy of locking rear-guards is very efficient. The strategy shuts down most decks. Setting Sun Star-vader, Darmstadtium is one of the best representations for Link Joker’s lock. This card is currently not easy to find. It was a promo card and has not been reprinted.
Break Ride skill locks three of your opponent’s rear-guard and your vanguard gains 10,000 power. The two rear-guards in the front row and the rear-guard behind the opposing vanguard are the best units to lock. You are stripping two attackers and a booster from your opponent. Defending the vanguard is much easier when your opponent can only attack with his or her vanguard. A steady flow of perfect guards will reserve cards in your hand for later in the game.
Furthermore, Setting Sun Star-vader, Darmstadtium is the perfect card to pair with Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios. They are an efficient duo. The Break Ride skill locks more than half of the cards that Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios needs locked to win. You just need to lock two more cards and the game will be yours under the correct circumstances. You may discard any extra copies of Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios to pay for the Break Ride’s cost.
Finally, there is an awesome play to instantly win the game with Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios. You must have five damage to use this combo. First, Stride Nebula Dragon, Big Crunch Dragon and use its skill can lock a column of two rear-guards. Second, Break Ride Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios to lock three rear-guards. Third, use Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios’s Ultimate Break to win the game. Your opponent will not see this coming.
Overall, Setting Sun Star-vader, Darmstadtium is one of the strongest defensive units in the Star-Vaders. He can set up a gaming winning turn if you time his Break Ride perfectly with Star-vader, “Omega” Glendios. You can play him in any deck with Link Joker. I hope gets a reprint in a future booster set. It deserves a reprint if Star-Vaders get new support from Bushiroad.
