Dark Knight’s Greatsword is an artifact – equipment from Magic the Gathering. This card is based on the weapon from Final Fantasy XIV. It has the ability of Job Select like many cards from Final Fantasy: Magic The Gathering.

First Ability:
Dark Knight’s Greatsword has Job Select when it enters the field. This ability creates one Hero Token with one power and one toughness. It also attaches itself to this token.
Therefore, Dark Knight’s Greatsword provides a token and attaches itself to this Hero token. The total power of the Hero token increased to four with this equipment. It becomes a strong creature in the early game.
Second Ability:
Dark Knight’s Greatsword adds three power to any creature. In addition, any creature with this artifact – equipment becomes a knight in addition to its other types. It gains power and a type with this artifact – equipment. It enables synergy with cards for knights.
Furthermore, the creature with this artifact – equipment is now a knight. This token now has synergy with support for knights. You can take full advantage of this new type.
For instance, Belle of the Brawl adds one power to all knights when she attacks until the end of the turn. The creature with Dark Knight’s Greatsword gains additional power from Belle of the Brawl. This creature with Dark Knight’s Greatsword can inflict considerable damage.
Third Ability:
Dark Knight’s Greatsword has Chaosbringer. You may attach this card to a creature at the cost of three life. This equipment requires life instead of mana for attaching itself to creatures. It allows players to allocate their mana to other cards.
Furthermore, Dark Knight’s Greatsword improves the tempo of the deck because it attaches itself to a creature without the cost of mana. You will want to attach Dark Knight’s Greatsword to a new creature after your Hero token goes into the graveyard. You may use your life for the cost.
In addition, this strategy converts life into a resource. Dark Knight’s Greatsword allows you to use your mana for other cards. You can develop a board with your mana. You are casting other cards such as creatures and artifacts. Your life is paying the cost for Dark Knight’s Greatsword instead of your mana.
On the other hand, Chaosbringer costs three life and players only have twenty life in Standard. The cost has a setback because it requires a considerable amount of life. This ability has a manageable cost during the early game. However, it is not a reliable option in the late game. You may have low life and the cost is not a wise decision.
Support:
Dark Knight’s Greatsword is an effective card in a variety of decks. You may play this card in a deck for the Job Select. It is also a useful card in black decks with knights and tokens. This card creates a token for a variety of decks and is a strong artifact – equipment with a boost of three power to any creature.
Furthermore, Dark Knight’s Greatsword has synergy with Black Mage’s Rod. The Hero token with Black Mage’s Rod inflicts one damage to each opponent when you cast a non-creature spell such as Dark Knight’s Greatsword.
In addition, The Darkness Crystal is a great card for Dark Knight’s Greatsword. The Darkness Crystal reduces the cost of this artifact – equipment by one mana. Therefore, you may cast Dark Knight’s Greatsword for two mana instead of three mana.
Play these cards with Dark Knight’s Greatsword!
- Belle of the Brawl
- Black Mage’s Rod
- The Darkness Crystal
Commander:
Decks may play one copy of Dark Knight’s Greatsword in Commander. This card fits in decks with the Job Select, equipment, and knights. A commander deck may have multiple colors for lands. This strategy fits the Job Select from Final Fantasy.
Furthermore, the third ability of Chaosbringer has a lot of value in Commander. Players have forty life in Commander. You are able to consistently afford the cost of Dark Knight’s Greatsword, and pay three life to attach this card to a creature.
Shadow Mysterious Assassin may use Dark Knight’s Greatsword in the Commander Format. Shadow Mysterious Assassin may sacrifice this artifact – equipment for his ability. This creature’s ability inflicts damage equal to the mana cost of this artifact – equipment and the player may draw two cards.
Furthermore, Ashe, Princess of Dalmasca may add Dark Knight’s Greatsword from the top five cards of the deck to the hand. This creature provides access to this artifact – equipment. You can play this artifact – equipment when you can pay the cost.
