First Effect:

Mysterion the Dragon Crown cannot be used as material for fusion summons. This restriction prevents any potential combos for certain decks. You cannot summon other fusion monsters with this card as material.

Furthermore, this effect provides protection from Super Polymerization. This effect applies to the opponent. The opponent cannot use Super Polymerization on Mysterion the Dragon Crown for a fusion summon.

Second Effect:

Mysterion the Dragon Crown loses 100 ATK for each of your cards in banishment. You want to avoid banishing your cards when possible. This fusion monster needs to be in a deck without any cards in banishment or a low amount of cards in banishment.

Furthermore, this effect is a weakness of Mysterion the Dragon Crown. An opponent can exploit this weakness. A smart opponent can focus on banishing cards to lower this fusion monster’s ATK.

Third Effect:

Mysterion the Dragon Crown banishes a monster after it special summons itself with an effect or an effect from a monster of the same type special summons it. In addition, the fusion monster banishes all monsters on the field of the same type of the monster from the special summon. This effect removes the opponent’s access to their monsters, and many decks will not be able to regain those resources.

Therefore, Mysterion the Dragon Crown counters many monsters in the game. Some cards in the modern format special summon themselves or other monsters from the hand. This effect from this fusion monster slows down these decks with these types of cards.

For instance, Cyber Dragon special summons itself from the hand. Mysterion the Dragon Crown banishes Cyber Dragon and all machines from the field. The opponent loses their important monsters.

In addition, the best time for this effect is banishing an opponent’s monster with a different type from your monsters. You want to avoid banishing any of your monsters in addition to the opponent’s monsters. Cards in your banishment decreases this fusion monster’s ATK.

Fusion Summon:

Mysterion the Dragon Crown requires one spellcaster and dragon as fusion materials. These cards are very common types of monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!. Certain decks with spellcasters and dragons can consistently play this fusion monster.

Furthermore, Mysterion the Dragon Crown fits in extra decks for archetypes with dragons and spellcasters. Blue-Eyes and Dark Magician have these types in monsters in their archetypes. They can consistently fusion summon this fusion monster.

For instance, you may use Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Maiden of White as fusion materials. You have a dragon and a spellcaster. You only need Polymerization in the hand. Then, these monsters as materials with Polymerization fusion summons Mysterion the Dragon Crown!
